I visited Agua Calientes with my friends in July of 2022 for a total of 2 days. We dined at The Tree House Restaurant a total of 3 times, and to be honest I would’ve eaten all my meals here if my friends had let me.
The quality, freshness and presentation of the food is second to none; Something you’d expect to see at a Michelin Star restaurant, that too at a fraction of the price!Their menu had a great mix of local Peruvian style dishes and was also vegetarian friendly which was something that was important to a few members in our group. Do not skip out on the desserts either!
Overall, we were very pleased with all 3 of our dining experiences at The Tree House restaurant. Agosto, our waiter (all three times) was extremely friendly and pleasant to deal with.
Similar to most restaurants in Peru, make sure to plan ahead, as the meal will take time especially with a larger party. This can probably attributed to the quality and freshness of the food!
Simply stated, If you visit MP, do not skip out...
Read moreLovely and quiet! Went for dinner and Mateo helped us. Paul was the attentive and superb chef for the evening. I have allergies to dairy and egg and shellfish. They took special care and even surprised me with extra chimichurri sauce to make my burger more delicious without me having to ask for it. ❤️ Hands down one of the BEST trout ceviche in town. My sister had the wok fried steak and the sauce was just amazing! Their still water is lovely and fancy.. the Munay brand ✨ Lovely cocktails from what we could tell too even though we didn't try them. Mateo was a gem -- so kind, darling and patience my with my allergy needs. They also gave us a small bite of toast I could eat -- no dairy or egg -- with chimichurri as a free apertivo since we had said we were very hungry. Only downside is that the restaurant is off the beaten path and at the top of some steep stairs. So be prepared. ☺️ Also we had trouble finding it so don't use Google maps directions at all and ask chatgpt instead.. and head from...
Read moreIn this impersonal neon jungle of Aguas Calientes where restaurant menus boasting no less than five different cuisines are shoved into your tired faces, the Tree House is a calm oasis featuring marvelous dishes, a tranquil ambiance, and a surprisingly likable playlist. Unlike the fluorescent interiors of other restaurants in the village populated with sticky chairs, stained tablecloths and what we assume are miraculous fridges that stocks fresh ingredients for Mexican, Italian, American, French, and Peruvian food (in addition to the all-day breakfast), the Tree House has a compact menu that improvises wonderfully on recognizable dishes with a sprinkle of local flavours and ingredients. The interior is a marriage between a Caribbean beach bar and a stylish Scandinavian patio. For anyone who doesn't want a guinea pig-filled tortilla on a hamburger bun baked in a wood-fired pizza oven, we highly recommend this...
