I went to Kinsa Cocha on a recommendation when I arrived in town. At first glance I felt this place was an ok spot, but after day two things got bad.||||FIRST.... I found out that the "HOT" water isn't always hot and when they do burn the fire to heat the water, it only becomes luke warm at best and being in the mountains luke warm equals cold. ||||SECOND.... the bathroom toilet did not have a seat on it. And after 3 days of staying there I had to ask for someone to clean the "public" bathroom, which I also had to ask for toilet paper every time it ran out. ||||THIRD..... Yes they have a courtyard with flowers, but the entire family that runs the place sits there and talks very loudly at all hours of the day, mostly early mornings and late at night.||The family actually treats me like I was a non paying guest, and anytime I asked for something they gave me attitude and a bad energy all around. ||||FORTH.... I found out they had been over charging me for my entire stay. The room I was in was "rustic" at best and they charged me more than the hotel next door which has HOT water and is actually cleaner all around. ||||FITH.... the WIFI is not always available, they like to turn it off at 10pm and wont turn it back on until you ask them, which they give you attitude once again. ||||Very unfriendly and unprofessional for a family thats been apparently running the hotel since the 70's... dont waste you money or time on this place. Theres other cheaper/nicer places to...
Read moreI have never written a review good or bad on TA before but I felt compelled after my 7 day stay here. I really wish I would have left sooner. I should also mention that I'm really not one to complain and can deal with very rustic conditions. It's the peoples attitude mostly that got me on here.||||The room was dark and cold with a hazy small window. The light bulb they chose to put in the room was one of those blue dim bulbs that gave off the tiniest trickle of light. Creaky floors and dirty thin carpet. When I saw they made the hot water by boiling a giant cauldron by campfire I thought ohh that's cool. But out of the 7 days I stayed there luke warm water was available only one time because they barely kept the fire going in the cold mountains. One morning I took a cold shower because I just needed to take a shower. No toilet seat on the toilet. The main lady here had a attitude problem especially when it came to the wifi. The wifi constantly drops and she keeps the modem in her bedroom so you can't reset it yourself. It's a huge hassle for her every time she needs to get off her butt to restart it AND she turns it off at night. ||||One positive- They have a pretty nice courtyard. I moved into a place around the corner for a couple bucks more with a private bathroom, perfect internet and HOT water.||Do yourself a favor and look around a...
Read moreWe stayed 2 nights at Kinsa Cocha and loved it. The rooms are inexpensive, but clean and comfortable. Hot water for the hotel is heated with a wood fire under the hot water heater. For that reason, the hotel only provides hot water for a few hours in the morning and again in the evening. There's a nice outdoor courtyard that's pleasant for sitting. The inside lobby and eating area are a bit dark and gloomy, but it's not a big problem. Location is good -- near the plaza, but not on top of it. Pisaq is a very fun, charming town and a great place to stay for a couple of nights. I'd highly recommend Kinsa...
