Located in a decent area, close to the main plaza. The rooms are decent size however the room we stayed in (10) had ants and the water did not stay warm for long, the pressure was never the same it hardly came out of the shower head. They also had shower curtains that only covered 1/2 of the shower so water got everywhere. They only provides 2 towels so we were unable to mop up the water on the floor which made for very dangerous bathroom. They also keep the front door locked all day, which is great for security but several times we had to wait 10+ minutes for someone to let us inside, even with ringing the door bell. Depending on who answered it felt as though we were a inconvenience to them, didn't matter the time of the day it was always hard finding staff. Lovely garden area however always random locals outside there being loud. If we were to stay in Urubamba again, we would...
Read moreI was staying there for one night for the visit to Ollantaytambo in Sacred Valley. I messed up with my booking by an overnight bus from Pto Maldonado to Cusco so I actually checked in on the next day I booked, however, the staff was still very nice and let me reschedule my stay for free. When I entered the room, I was impressed! Over so many guesthouses I stayed around the world, I would say this one is definitely with international standard 3+ stars boutique hotel level. Cozy room with soft bed & tasteful decoration, clean bathroom, good facility. All cost me only $14, even cheaper than the taxi ride to Urubambo from Cusco. ||||The location is in Urubambo though there's nothing in town, but it is a transportation hub to Ollantaytambo, Pisac and Cusco....
Read moreWe didn’t know anything about Urubamba before visiting but Venka was a fantastic choice in this charming town. It’s located in the perfect spot, on a quiet side street minutes away from the town center and the bus depot. The room was sunny, comfortable, and clean. We saved lots of money by buying groceries at the nearby bodegas and cooking in Venka’s small but useful kitchen. Hot water took a few minutes to kick in but worked every day if we gave it time to warm up.||You will find friendly folks here - and we were very pleasantly surprised by the lovely backyard and outdoor tables! One note, if you have an allergy to bees, they do raise honeybees in the...
