Bit of a tuff one as this is almost a “soft opening”. Place was 90% completed just before Covid. Those owners failed and it was picked up by absentee Filipina. She either does not have the money or experience to actually get the last 10% done. Missing: mirrors, shelves/dressers, hooks just not finished!!! Water temp and pressure low in most units. No fridge never mind, kettle coffee. ICE????? No chance that they have it and attitude is you do not need it, typical of these peeps. So you get a basic bunker, modern, clean but just lacking so much especially from western POV (Philipinos are used to sub-par but not western dive travelers but it is cheap @ $32. Breakfast is included but it varies from inedible to ridiculous. One morning canned spaghetti and hot dogs , took 3 days to get milk for coffee, everything is done early and sits so cold. Hey you do not starve but it is a bit frustrating. Try and mention things and they just cannot get it. Staff is an issue, the owner installed her parents, pleasant enough always apologizing but completely clueless what western dive travelers expect. Before booking check on every detail and be sure that they get expat manager who is on the ball for western guests. Potential but I know this place and fear it will not improve. So in the end just forget this place!!! On the day before leaving we found cloths, luggage. Computers all had MOLD on them. We had two rooms and we both had infections and illness, now I know why MOLD!! Tried to reason with the two old fools running it and they freaked out and started screaming that we were dirty people. They could not take the responsibility for their defective A/C I guess. The women freaked out and started screaming. Never seen this but these people have no business running a hotel. I advised tourist bureau, and health department but they will do nothing cause they do not care about tourism. TOTAL GONG SHOW!!! But cause of mold and the ignorance of the people there you'll just get sick...
Read moreSo I was very concerned about being able to take video calls from Coron island. I searched deep in Google, Reddit, What’s App PH groups & FB groups.
I didn’t confirm that the internet would work but when I saw the reviews on Google I figured it was worth trying this place.
Stayed for 3 nights & it’s been the best experience accommodation wise in PH.
Although the twin room I booked was a bit small it’s clean & modern.
The shower had hot water that just took a little time to warm up.
What made this place outstanding was the manager Teo.
You can tell how much he cares about accommodating ALL of his guests needs in any way he can.
When I learned he had worked in several Michelin star restaurants it made sense to me the level of service him & his team provide for their guests.
For those looking for a great bang for the buck without spending too much this is a hidden gem.
My room had no desk.
When I told him I needed a space to take a meeting he allowed me to use a vacant room. Brought a really comfy office chair, water & also let me borrow two power converters.
They have 3 internet providers Starlink, Globe & PLDT.
I booked the Ultimate tour through a guide company they use.
We paid 150 P for fins & another 150 for a mask through the tour company. The masks were not good quality so I would probably try to rent that at a dive shop with proper masks instead.
I also booked the onward ferry & shuttle to the ferry through him. You can also rent bikes though a company they use.
It’s a one stop shop.
It obviously can be a bit rainy so be careful when walking around the property because it can get a bit slick.
Had great resto recommendations as well.
Playing with two little orange kittens on the property was so lovely too.
Thank you Teo and team for such an...
Read moreWe arrived at our hotel around 6pm, which is 4hrs past the check in time and our room wasn’t ready. We were offered a complimentary arrival drink at bar, which we then had to pay for. On arrival we were informed that construction is undergoing each day, and our rooms will only be cleaned every two days. The construction started at 10am and finished after 6-7pm daily.|We discovered that our tv remote didn’t work, which meant we couldn’t use the tv until next day, when it was replaced we still couldn’t use tv until third day when the wifi was stable. The staff didn’t turn on the hot water system, which wasn’t too bad as due to the heat of the day. We eventually worked out ourselves how to turn it on the next day. Sink in bathroom was wobbly, and toilet holder was loose, resulting in toilet paper constantly dropping. There was an insect growing in the shower in the tags of hot water system. On the third day, we asked to have our room cleaned and fresh towels, which they did, but we didn’t receive fresh water, all water containers remained empty. Shampoo container empty entire time. |The hotel does have security at night time which is reassuring. You can book tours from reception. The construction works were noisy and workers played loud music during the day. Luckily that only went on between 10am & 7pm each day. |Rooms were noisy with dogs barking from neighbouring properties.|On the plus side, the fridge is exceptional, it kept all our drinks icy cold. |We ordered our breakfast early prior to a tour, explained that we needed it by a particular time. It took over 30 mins for breakfast to be cooked, we were late for our pick up.|On checkout we were charged 400 pesos for towel hire, we didn’t realise at time of check in it’s an additional...
