We arrived at the hotel Manggis is attached to after a very long journey. We wanted a quick lunch but got nothing of the kind. We ordered Carbonara and a meat pizza without cheese (due to an intolerance). The carbonara arrived after about 40 minutes. It was sloppy and tasteless and was curdled. The pizza came long after this - over an hour after ordering. Despite the waiter checking twice that the pizza was not to have cheese it still came with cheese on top. After I complained the staff began to argue with me to say it wasn’t cheese. After a brief discussion in the kitchen (when I asked to see the ingredients) they came out and apologised stating it was cheese after all. Needless to say we didn’t eat here again for dinner.
We also had breakfast included in our hotel stay at this restaurant. The breakfast was a basic choice of 2 cereals, two types of fruit, toast, pancakes, rice and eggs. There was no variety for the 6 mornings we ate here. The chef in the kitchen was also observed to be picking his nose whilst flicking through his phone at the...
Read moreTurned up and was completely empty, should’ve taken this as a sign not to eat here. Generator rumbled me to my core it was that loud. Ordered the chilli cheese sticks and they were about the only nice thing regarding Manggis. Also ordered the chicken strips which were incredibly dry yet oily, not much meat to give either. Ordered the beef fajitas and we genuinely had to wring them out they were just that oily (pics attached). No flavour either, had to use my dip from the chili cheese sticks. Ordered an iced tea to accompany and noticed that my straw was considerably shorter than my partner’s- they had cut off the end to reuse the straw… (pics also attached) Servers were nice and polite, had decent music on the speaker and were pretty quick. With some good food this could be a nice spot as the...
Read moreThis restaurant is absolutely one of our favorite spot when we were in Coron. We first tried it for take-out and came back the next day for dine-in. And right now, I wish we could have more of the Taco Pizza.
The taco pizza is our favorite dish in this restaurant. Pasta is alright, truffle fries are good, desserts are bomb! And lastly, our favorite drink is the Calamansi Juice!!
Shout-out to Kuya Kyle and Kuya Dexel, who is very accommodating, friendly, fun to talk to, and very professional to what they do. Also, Chef Lorena, who makes really delicious food!
We miss this place so bad and hope we can have some more of that pizza. This place is worth a shot! Specially that yummy taco pizza that's hard to forget. Eat some for us when you try it. We hope this...
