To resume the whole week we stayed here in just a sentence: don't come. Here are all the events that happend at our stay at the nest, el nido. Enjoy.||1. The entrance to the hotel from downtown is terrible, no roads at all.|2. The lobby is unpleasant and not welcome. ||Our first impression of the hotel: the day we arrived, we found fresh pee on the toilet and the room smelled moldy. We ask them to clean it, and they came with a smell spray???. We had to wait like an hour, and ask ourself for Disinfectant. To add more to the topic, the guy that came to clean, didn't know how to do it, so we had to teach him ourself. Extra points to our beautiful first night, the sockets didn't work, and we found geckos, plaster bagworms and a lot of ants in our room. The food was tasty, but it took an hour to be done.||The second day, they changed our room, and even if it smelled better, the water pressure was really low, and the extractor in the bathroom didn't work so it was really humid. We told the staff about the water pressure, and the first guy at the front desk said they couldn't do anything about it. It was enough so we let it like that. We decided to go to have dinner in the downtown, but tbh it's not a nice place. We thought we could go to the beach there, but there were a lot of boats and the sea was dirty. The streets (if you can name them like that) are so dirty, broken, full of trash, noisy and full of motorcycles. A part of it was under construction. You can barely walk. We manage to find a nice restaurant but we all were overwhelmed atp.||The third day we went to the tour A, it was really nice, and when we came back, they were burning trash right in front of the hotel. And we notice it was the same hotel the one doing it. we had to wait to let our Swimsuits drying outside, and in the bathroom, because In The room was no place for it. ||The forth day we planned to go to the cabañas beach, and that day the bathroom was so humid, our things were still wet, and the clothes that stayed outside, were full of bugs, so we couldn't take it anymore, So we complained AGAIN with another staff member called May (who is the only reason why this hotel can be saved ) and she told us she was going to send someone to fix the extractor. Perfect, we went to the beach, had an amazing day, and came back really late. As soon as we enter the room, we notice that the extractor was working, but they left all the dirt of the work on the toilet and the sink. Really tired, we asked them to clean it (it was already 8-9 pm) and again, they came with just the smell spray, so we had to ask for Clorox and were so mad and tired, we cleaned it ourself, but the general cleaning of the room was also terrible, they just made the beds, changed the towels and that's it, even when they were dirty too and we had to ask for new ones.||The fifth day, we planned to go to the Lio Beach, and that day the water pressure was unexciting. So we complained AGAIN with the girl that was on the morning on the conter, and she told us, she was going to send someone to check on it. We asked to please send someone to clean the bathroom, if someone was going to enter it, so the Event of last night won't repeat itself. They said ok. We kinda trust that, we went to the beach. Again we came really late back to the hotel, only to find that first: they didn't make the room, and second: the sink was a completely mess and the floor was full of dirty water. So at this point, our patient was gone. We complained again and had to ask someone to clean it AGAIN. The mam that came, checked the area and called another men, because they let the water leaking, so he had to "fix it". After that, she went and took like 10 min to come back, and brought just two towers, not even cleaning stuffs, and was about to just dry the floor. I personally had to ask her to please not use the same tower for the sink because that was disgusting. When we notice she was about to leave, we asked her if she was going to CLEAN it and she was speechless, so again we had to asked for Clorox because they didn't have anything else to desinfect the area, and when I begged her to clean at least the sink, SHE TOLD ME TO DO IT MYSELF, AGAIN, as if it was MY JOB. This is not a cheap hotel to be living thing kind of things. Her name was N.O. or something like that, but it was so bad May had to come and help us because her communication skills were also a disaster.||After that night, we were so emotionally tired, we decided to stay at the hotel in our room. For our luck it was our last day so we just tried to relax. Today we are finally going away from here, but if you want to enjoy your stay at El Nido, avoid this hotel at all costs. It's not worth it for the price...

DO NOT STAY HERE!

We are so so disappointed about this hotel. We have been travelling through Thailand, Bali and Philippines and thought we’d stay here for a small bit of luxury. We read the reviews and most of them were positive with a few exceptions. You pay 5 star prices for this hotel in El Nido at over £110 (around 8000 pesos) per night and it is just simply not worth it. We have stayed some not so flattering places but this place was not what we expected AT ALL!!!

First of all the road (not even a road, it’s a horrendous dirt track full of pot holes) into the hotel is a shambles! You wouldn’t walk along it into El Nido as it doesn’t feel safe during the day or at night. You also walk past a cemetery and dodgy looking parts which many people wouldn’t be comfortable with.

The hotel itself has basic rooms which they have tried to make nice but they are dark, damp and full of bugs. There is huge gaps on the door which lets in any bugs from the gardens and surrounding areas. The hotel next door blasts music and has live bands which are very loud until around 11pm. Wild dogs bark throughout the night and cockerels start around 6am each morning so good luck getting a decent sleep. On top of that in the room there is a large window which has no blind/curtains so the light floods in early morning. Numerous times we have came back to the room to find geckos and other bugs crawling on the walls. During the night on the roof or inside some of the above area of the room has a bird inside it. This squawks loudly throughout the night! Getting hot water for showers is a mission and the hotel suffers from random power cuts.... really worth the £110 a night price eh?!

We have also been told (it’s also on TripAdvisor) that this hotel has been told to shutdown by Philippine Authorities. Why would you pay the expensive price for here to later find out its shut down and you get no refund. Or it gets shutdown when your here and you are thrown into holiday turmoil. It’s just not worth the risk!

The Wi-fi is a complete joke! It’s unusable and you get the excuse from the staff that it’s just patchy.

The restaurant is okay for drinks. The restaurant staff and view are lovely however the management/service/hygiene of the place is a disgrace. There is constantly flies around, ants crawling on the tables and birds eating the food from the buffet. At breakfast we saw birds eating the food from the buffet and the staff just ignoring this. I wouldn’t be happy if I was the next guest to walk in and have eaten the food that was sitting out. There are ants crawling along the tables which has food on them and all of this combined made us not comfortable eating here at all. We got all our jags before coming over here but still felt on edge.

We complained to front desk about these issues and that we were thinking about shortening our stay. They had no idea how to deal with this situation and told us to come back later. Eventually a manager/someone who does reservations met us and explained that nothing can be done. As you’d expect we pushed further on this for a refund as we had booked for 7 nights and were only wanting to stay 2. They would not offer a refund or even a small percentage of our money back out of courtesy as they said accounting would not allow it. However, 10 minutes after this discussion they were going to upgrade our room, pay for tours and massages for us (not sure why accounting would allow this though). By this time we were not interested in staying here anymore and just wanted to move on. We lost over £500 because of this and they were not bothered at all which is an absolute disgrace!

This hotel really needs some guidance and management to deal with genuine customers instead of just giving the policy line that they have been trained on. We certainly would not recommend it as it lacks basic hygiene and for the money you can get much much much better places in or around El Nido. We were really sad this was the result but wanted to share our experience in the hope others don’t have the same negative...

This is a beautiful place, if not somewhat difficult to get to! We arrived via a 6 hour van transfer from Puerto Princesa into El Nido bus terminal, on the outskirts of the town. The Hotel had said they would meet us at the bus terminus, but I wasn't surprised when they didn't, there was no guarantee when we would arrive. We called them and they came within 15 mins to collect us on a tricycle.

The ride to the Resort is interesting. Once you go through El Nido town proper, the pathway is very narrow and exceptionally bumpy. It's only about 5 minutes to get through this bit, but it's not comfortable. The boys that ride the bikes are great, and you have free transfers all the time you are there which is really handy. We were staying after a 5 day monsoon so the roads were flooded and difficult, it might be easier at other times. There were also signs suggesting a tarmac road was going to be built so it may not be a problem for much longer.

Once you're there, the hotel is really lovely, the staff are charismatic and fun, they make you feel truly welcomed and seem so happy. The rooms are beautifully appointed, and if you ever need anything, the staff are very attentive and happy to oblige.

The views from the end of the property over the bay are stunning, you can see all the magnificent islands El Nido offers on its amazing tours.

The breakfast is very limited and was a bit disappointing, but on our last day we had a 5am departure to head to Coron and they gave us a nice sandwich for the journey.

Overall it's a wonderful experience to stay here, made even more delightful by the...

Nice quiet place with a good view. Not luxurious, but simple, good enough, and peaceful. The beach has a great view. The pool and restaurant/bar are right next to it with the same view. All the rooms are cabins between the beach and lobby, all facing a long inner courtyard with some trees and landscaping. All rooms have a patio with some chairs. The glass of the cabin windows is all reflective, so you can keep the blinds open and people still can't see it. It's very nice actually Free tuk-tuks to town, but not reachable by vehicle at high tide. The tuks tuks are higher quality and more comfortable than most. The walk is 15 minutes to a central part of town, nice enough except for all the trash everywhere. But that's everywhere in the Philippines. The shower heats up pretty quick and gets pretty hot. The water can quickly spread across the bathroom though. Beds were fine. Towels and sheets were fine. AC was fine Power went out a few times a day, even when sunny and clear. Always only for a minute or so, usually less. The power in town would go out for 40 minutes or so, so maybe they have backup here. We saw one cockroach outside, but none inside. The rooms seemed pretty clean overall, and house cleaning did come every day too. Free water to refill water bottles in the lobby, plus a single glass bottle in the room refilled every day. The hotel can arrange island tours. We got put on a huge boat with 40 or more people for ours.

I never do reviews but i feel it is important to share my experience of El Nido Palawan as i have read some youtube reviews before i visited. I stayed at the nest a few minutes away from the city, it was great with a clean room, bathroom and a lot of friendly smiles. The pool was amazing and i was even able to snorkel right next to the hotel. The food was also great. Going into the city was easy and free and also pickup was free, only bad thing was the dirt road you had to endure bck and to the city, itbis something i just cant get use to, poor drivers. The atmosphere in Al Nido was amazing everyone was friendly and easy to start a conversation. The locals are so helpful and can do attitude. The tours were great maybe a bit touristy but food was great and amazing to see the lagoons and sea life. Tip: to get some proper wifi visit Artcafe, great coffee, great food amazing atmosphere with the band. Try the local food, yummie. I saw the review on youtube and they might be right on some points but it was far better than wht they make it out to be. A great adventure, never to forget.
