Fuego El Nido. PROPER BURGERS — Restaurant in El Nido

I had an extremely disappointing experience at this restaurant. We were a group of 17 people, and while everyone else received their food, I was the only one left waiting. I specifically ordered still water, but it never arrived. Later, when I asked for a refill of the service water, that also never came.

The worst part was my burger. I repeatedly asked the staff about it, as it seemed strange that I was the only one without food. They kept assuring me it was on its way, but it never arrived. After waiting for over an hour, I ended up eating alone, rushed, and without any appetite because my entire group had already finished their meals and had to wait for me.

What made this experience even worse was the staff. No one took responsibility for the situation, and no one came to check on me or ask how they could make up for the poor service. I even told them that it would be a shame to leave a bad review about the service, but it seemed like they didn’t care. There’s clearly a lack of critical thinking and initiative among the staff.

I had to approach them myself to ask if they would waive the cost of the burger due to the terrible experience, but they refused. Despite serving food to a group of 17 people, they didn’t have the decency to offer the burger for free or any other form of compensation.

This was, without a doubt, the worst service I’ve experienced in the Philippines. The food itself was just okay, but it upset my stomach because I had to eat in a bad mood and rushed. The place is expensive for what it offers, and the service is absolutely terrible. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. I was there last night as I was craving for a proper burger sandwich.

The place was quiet, which I liked so as not to wait too long for my food, and I ordered their special burger + chips and a bottle of water.

Despite the waitress repeated the order before leaving, I never received the water, not even when my burger was served.

The burger was ok in terms of taste but too small and accompanied by a ridiculously small size of fries - maybe that's their Filipino standard sizes but then it doesn't explain the Western prices (750php for it!)

When I asked for the bill, I received a total including service charge, which I obviously refused to pay given the very poor service I received.

Hope they will at least improve their customer service and will increase portions otherwise it will still not...

On a quiet evening in El Nido, I was drawn in after intending to eat elsewhere. This, in an area of town that is changing with things being built or soon to open.

Came in and as has been my experience in Philippines people are warm & welcoming. Long may that continue, never mind in the service industry.

Ordered the super smash burger and a friend ordered the Royale with cheese (no 5 dollar shake though 🤣) with both excellent & a good size without the enormity of the gourmet burger era.

My only tiny criticism (I’m probably being a little unfair not giving 5 stars), the portion of fries could have been double. It wouldn’t be too filling either.

A bonus perk was paying by card or contactless payment in a town which seems to mostly accept cash...
