Location & Affordability
Goldberry Lite Hotel stands out for its central and convenient location in Iloilo City proper. Guests rave about its proximity to key spots like Plaza Libertad, SM Delgado, and Calle Real, making it a breeze to explore the city on foot or via jeepneys.
Multiple travelers on Reddit highlight its budget-friendly appeal. One noted that “Goldberry Lite is around ₱1,200,” reinforcing that it’s a solid choice for affordable accommodations in the city.
Cleanliness & Facilities
Feedback from Trip.com reviews paints a mostly positive picture:
Ratings show strong marks in cleanliness (4.6/5) and value for money, alongside great praise for the location and service.
Guests consistently admire the friendly and accommodating staff, as well as the complimentary breakfast and indoor pool.
However, some point out the breakfast offerings and amenities could be improved—common themes include limited servings or menu variety in the mornings.
Value Highlights from Past Guests
TripAdvisor users from prior years echo the praise:
One business traveler called it "the place to stay in Iloilo City," citing good value, helpful staff, a clean pool, and convenient access to ferries.
Another remembered it as a “beautiful refurbished building,” perfectly located during festivals like Dinagyang.
Earlier reviews also lauded the fast Wi-Fi, clean wooden floors, high-thread-count beddings, and well-appointed bathrooms.
Maintenance & Areas for Improvement
Despite the many positive remarks, the user’s own experience highlights urgent maintenance issues that should be addressed:
Stained curtains and mirrors detract from the visual appeal and perceived cleanliness.
Malfunctioning bath doors can hinder functionality and convenience.
While guest reviews from Trip.com are generally glowing, a few mention broken fixtures—like toilet seats or under-sink areas—that hint at underlying maintenance gaps.
Final Thoughts
Goldberry Lite Hotel offers an excellent location-to-price ratio, combined with warm service and a comfortable, clean environment. Its central positioning makes it perfect for exploring Iloilo without breaking the bank.
However, to truly align with its otherwise high standards, maintenance must become a priority. Addressing issues like stained curtains, unclean mirrors, and faulty bathroom fixtures would go a long way in preserving guest satisfaction and the hotel’s overall reputation.
Overall, it's a strong value choice—just be prepared to raise these concerns to management early if your room...
Read moreWe recently stayed at Gold Berry Lite Hotel in Iloilo with high hopes, and while the aesthetics, service, and food were commendable, I left feeling disappointed due to several avoidable issues, particularly with the room facilities.
The positives first: The hotel looks modern and welcoming. Staff were polite, attentive, and accommodating throughout our stay. We appreciated the complimentary breakfasts, which were flavorful and well-prepared.
However, the room conditions did not meet expectations. We booked two rooms, starting with the Lite Room on the first night. While understandably compact (being the budget option), it was generally functional. The major downside was the lack of soundproofing and a broken safety deposit box, which took over an hour to be replaced.
We upgraded to a Standard Room the next day for more space, but unfortunately, this is when things went downhill.
-The bathroom faucet only dispensed hot water, making washing up uncomfortable.
-The bidet was clogged, shooting high-pressure water unpredictably.
-Both the comfort room and shower doors wouldn’t close properly.
-The shower handle leaked and the drain was so inefficient that water pooled and flowed out into the bedroom area.
-The safety deposit box in this room also didn’t work, again needing replacement(but wasn't replaced even after multiple requests).
To top it off, when we used the pool in the morning, it was cloudy and unclean. Despite repeated requests, the maintenance team failed to show up, and pool filters and pumps were left off, raising concerns about hygiene.
Overall, this stay was a mixed experience. Gold Berry Lite Hotel has potential, it has a great team, looks appealing, and serves good food. But the management really needs to invest in maintaining and upgrading the basic amenities in their rooms and ensure maintenance staff are responsive. With these improvements, the hotel could be a much...
Read moreWe book this hotel online thru AGODA and we pay the rooms online too and got the confirmation. We check in as per our schedule with no hassle. The room is clean but quite small. Amenities were basic. Water is leaking on the glass partition when you take shower (not enough sealant on the upstand and glass). Cable TV is problematic on my room need to restart the digi box. Internet connection during that time is down and we cannot connect. Breakfast is serve according to your choice of set menu. The problem arose when we check out. we check out early since we need to go somewhere before heading to the airport for our 11am flight. to my surprise I have outstanding bill for the rooms. When I ask, what it is the helpless staff do not know what it is. Since this is not my first time to book hotels online I was wondering what it is and I ask for explanation. The staff is feeling helpless she cannot call her supervisor or manager since there was load on their mobile. I gave my mobile phone since we are in a hurry and time is ticking. After reaching the manager I guess It was canceled and we were able to check out but we lost more than 30 min of our...
