The Argonauta lists itself as a boutique hotel but it’s more like a home stay or Bed and Breakfast. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Bigi was right at the door upon our arrival to greet us. |We probably should have researched more on both location and amenities. A lot of the reviews I had seen on Expedia had photos of a pool, which there isn’t one. The walk down to the beach access is quite sketchy as you have to traverse broken bamboo, avoid garbage, and overgrown vegetation. We did it on our first day but after that we paid to take the e-trikes down to the white beach. |Breakfast is made to order every day. The options are simple but quite good. Other options for lunch or dinner nearby require a lot of walking or paying for tricycles which ending up being all sorts of different prices. The walk up to the main road is fine during the day but I didn’t feel comfortable once it was dark. |Our room was spacious but the bed was very low to the ground and only had a hard single mattress on the frame. Our room safe key never worked which we reported as soon as we checked in, unfortunately it was never fixed or addressed. |This hotel is great for those wishing to be away from crowds and noise. If you just want to sit up above the beach the views are spectacular. |We ended up checking out early and moved to a hotel down along station 2 beach so we could have a pool, access to the beach and...
Read moreIf you want to enjoy Boracay without the hustle and bustle of the town or the anonymity of a big resort, this is your place!
Embedded in lush gardens and with a marvelous view across the sea, Argonauta offers a relaxed and tranquil atmosphere. Stefanie and her team make sure that every guest is well taken care of, starting with cool towels and a welcome drink on arrival.
Our room was spacious, very clean and comfortable, with a good working A/C and stable WiFi. The peaceful environment made for an excellent sleep during the two nights of our stay. The breakfasts in the morning were basic but tasty, served on a nice terrace with views of the gardens and the ocean.
We also liked the fact that Argonauta is situated at the end of a small alley with a very local atmosphere - with little stalls, kids playing outside, (friendly) dogs and cats, helpful islanders… A number of beautiful beaches are close by, although accessing them may require a short and steep hike under a bit more adventurous circumstances - just keep that in mind if you have any mobility issues. The friendly team will be able to organize transportation for you, though.
We were really happy that we discovered this little peaceful place and will gladly return if our travels ever bring us back...
Read moreOur stay at Argonauta was fantastic. The owner is especially friendly and informative, the staff are super helpful and nice, the room was great and the views are amazing. No kidding, the best views on the entire island are at this resort! The food is cooked by the staff, and it's top quality. We had actually avoided ordering earlier in our stay, simply because the meals were just a bit pricey. After we ordered though, we quickly found out that the portions are enough for 2! Turns out it was actually a great deal. |||| Because we didn't know what to expect coming to Boracay, we actually stayed at three different resorts on different areas of the island. Hands-down this is our favorite!||||The beach is absolutely fantastic, but there is a bit of a walk down to it. It takes approximately 5-8 minutes to get down there, (all downhill to get there, all uphill to return) but for about half of the walk, you are walking on a native trail. There are tree roots and rocks sticking out of the ground (I.E. tripping hazards) that might not be appropriate if you don't consider yourself "sure-footed" or if you need a cane or walker. We loved it, and did not consider it an issue at all, but I believe it's worth the mention. ||||||All in all, we had a...
