First of all, this restaurant is inside the hotel Microtel by Wyndham which locates in a hidden gem, 2kms from Station 1 center.
The most disappointing thing of this restaurant is just the waiting time was so long, 45 mins. Just come if you have plenty of time to wait. Beside that everything else is wonderful: the set up, the view, the location next to the beach makes you feel private, the friendly staffs. The fishes and salads were nice, although the salad was a bit sweet to my taste but still delicious. The dinner tonight we just ordered fishes and we were pretty happy at our choice. When we ordered the dessert, finally i had to cancel as it was too slow to serve (15-20mins when i thought it should be quick like 5 mins as it was ice-cream). I don’t know if they really paid attention to what the guests expect? We actually ordered the fishes before the next table but our fishes’ dishes came later than them and of-course, i was not happy about that. I had Happy Hour offer for Singapore Sling cocktail (buy 1 get 1) and it was a bit terrible as i don’t think its authentic and it was bitter. So i just recommend foods if you come here for eating. The next table has a child cry, so its not all quiet and romantic as it looks. So im happy to give it 4/5 and i think that’s generous. The bill was 2200 peso foe 2 fishes, 1 salad, cocktail and 1 extra rice. I think it’s affordable...
Read moreReview of Momma's Fish House, Boracay Island I had high hopes for Momma's Fish House based on its reputation, but my experience was disappointing and quite concerning. So far I have been parilized in bed for two days. My fiancé and I were excited to enjoy a meal at this popular spot, but unfortunately, we both ended up with food poisoning shortly after eating there. It completely ruined our trip. We both experienced terrible fever as well as food poisoning that lead us to the emergency room. We are looking for legal ramification towards this establishment. Additionally, the interaction we had with the owner, Kori, was unsettling. She approached us during our meal and expressed her disdain for Americans, which was uncomfortable and unwelcoming. It left us feeling unwelcome and added to our overall negative experience. While the atmosphere was okay and the location was very much below average for a franchised motel, I can't overlook the food safety issues and the rude behavior. I would recommend looking elsewhere on the island for a more enjoyable dining experience. (FYI her husband is American which is even more funny.) DO NOT EAT HERE. GO TO RIMA INSTEAD, FOOD...
Read moreWe had an incredible experience at Mama’s Fish House. We arrived excited for a fish dinner, and after asking for suggestions we ordered the Red Roasted Mahi Mahi and Escabecheng Lapu Lapu. Both were INCREDIBLE. The Lapu Lapu was a whole fish, crispy and incredibly easy to approach, unlike some whole fish you may have ordered in the past. The flavor was unbelievable and the texture was buttery and soft. The Mahi Mahi was also delicious, with a bit more bite to it paired perfectly with the delicacy of the mashed potatoes.
The cocktails were also a major highlight of our visit. We arrived during happy hour, and enjoyed two for one frozen daiquiris and margaritas made with fresh fruit - starting with mango and working our way into pineapple. From service to delivery, our experience was a 10/10. We also had the opportunity to meet mama herself, though she explained the restaurant was named after her mother. We couldn’t recommend this restaurant enough on your visit to boracay. If it’s out of the way for you, make it on the way. It’s well worth the...
