Marianita's cottages — Hotel in Mambajao

A very nice series of rooms/cottages located next to a small black sand beach and the ocean looking towards White Island.||||The gardens and grounds are spotlessly clean and well maintained and the rooms themselves likewise. Each room has a small terrace with tables and chairs and there is a small communal grass lawn and covered area immediately next to the beach.||||They have good, efficient A/C, a hot shower, ceiling fans, TV and WiFi (albeit a little intermittant/slow). Each room has a small fridge and minibar (prices are very fair) and there is an option of pre-ordering breakfast if required.||||The staff are extremely friendly and helpful at all times.||||Its located about 800m walk away from Checkpoint and other food areas although nothing else is in the immediate area so you need a bike or tricycle for further travel.||The cottages offer bike rental, laundry service and so on.||||The only potential downsides are the WiFi is intermittant (as in the rest of the area, at peak times it grinds to a halt) and water pressure is a little low but these are minor things and outside the control of the property.||||Id thoroughly recommend staying here and if i go back to the island, would definitely choose to...

Located near the White Island Sandbar Terminal. As the entry is from the main road getting a multicab/jeepney/habal habal during the morning is not a problem but in the afternoon you will probably wait longer. I did arrange a habal habal through reception.||You will probably be checked in by the hostess with the mostess Rowena. Very friendly and helpful lady who speaks good english.||I stayed in one of the two beachfront rooms with balcony, table and chairs. My room was a good size with a comfortable bed, clean linens and a shelving unit with hangers for clothes. Aircon, cable TV and fridge all worked well. Even provided an emergency portable light but I didn't need to use it. Guess power failures are not uncommon.||The bathroom had a separate shower recess where three cockroaches committed suicide whilst I was there. Not uncommon on islands. A breakfast menu was also available. Accessing a restaurant is probably the only inconvenience but overall, I really enjoyed coming back each day after my activities. Pleasant stay! Great view especially in the morning. Unfortunately the sunbeds were always occupied.

We booked directly since the beachfront room was cheaper that way. Downpayment was made through bank transfer but was surprised to know we needed to pay in cash upon checkout 😢 we were super low in cash and had to cash out thru gcash from a store 10mins away.

Great location, 8mins from the airport. We only needed to pay P20 via multicab when we arrived. Fare was only P10/way to Checkpoint and other restos. Can also walk going there.

Limited choices for breakfast; but serving was generous. Room was spacious; with bidet and water heater - but the pressure was too low. We requested for pale and bucket instead.

Crews were helpful and friendly. They even let us borrow umbrellas.

PS. I got sick during our last day and was having diarrhea; they didn’t allow us to extend/late checkout even though we were willing to pay. I had to pull myself...
