Don't expect too much. I know I didn't because I definitely got a very good deal when I booked this room. And even though there was a slight misunderstanding on our conversations via email, I have overlooked that and proceeded with a positive head. Next thing you need to know, the hotel's a little hard to find. Since it was raining yesterday and I knew there was no chance I could find the entrance while riding a cab, I decided to alight at Marcelino cor. Nakpil street and just walk from there. Thankfully, I saw a little sign overhead that says "Orange Nest".||||Check-in process wasn't stressfull. They asked for a security deposit of 1k and then handed out the breakfast coupons. It's quite observable that their reception area shares the same space with Kape Pilato which is kind of nice. Too bad not all of their staff are nice and welcoming. As I was being escorted to my room, I was led on to the elevator outside the hotel. Beware, the lift's a little cramped. If you're claustraphobic, this might pose as a challenge. I requested a room away from the main street and it appears that it was wise that I did that.||||Entering room 404, the over-all design is plain and simple. Big bed, thick sheets, four pillows, mini-fridge, rest room, sink and a little balcony. However, as I rested inside the room for a few hours, I keep on noticing unpleasant things about my stay. First, the TV doesn't have cable. I mean, it doesn't even have any good shows to watch on. Everything's static and blue. Next, bed bugs. They were literally crawling on the bed and I had to squash a few on my own. To add on to my disappointment, there is no bidet. :-(||||The next day, I ordered breakfast and I encountered yet another situation. Receptionist said that there is no available chef at the time so I can't upgrade my breakfast from Continental to Filipino. I was furious for a second because I need carbs for my morning meal; so I kept my calm and asked "What time is the chef coming in?". Take note, it was almost 8 AM and they advertise that they serve breakfast from 7 AM to 10 AM. Then there's the overwhelmingly illogical rule wherein you have to pay 110 pesos for somebody to deliver your food to your room.||||Overall, I wouldn't suggest this hotel as a first choice within the area. But if you need to stay somewhere cheap and relatively decent, you may want to consider this.||||(+)||Close to malls and restaurants.||Budget-friendly.||Kape Pilato.||||(-)||Creepy-crawlers.||TV with no TV.||Over-all...
Read moreI booked my stay at this hotel through Booking.com and felt completely misled by the photos posted online.
To start on a positive note, the few staff members (no more than five in total) were polite and communicated well. However, the hotel itself is in very poor condition and appears to be up for sale or lease. It seems that no proper maintenance has been carried out for quite some time.
The reception area smelled dusty and looked neglected. It seems to have been a café in the past, but now it’s barely functioning as a reception. The furniture and sofas there were covered in dust, and the Halloween decorations with fake spider webs made the place feel even more unpleasant.
The lighting in the corridors and rooms was dim and yellowish — completely different from the bright, clean look in the photos. The room furniture was very old and worn out. Upon check-in, the receptionist handed me a roll of toilet paper, which felt unusual and unprofessional.
The bathroom was the worst part — the drain didn’t work properly, so water pooled on the floor after every shower. The water heater only worked for extremely hot or extremely cold water, with no proper temperature adjustment. I was given only one towel, and when I requested an extra towel or floor mat, they provided an old, dirty one.
I’ve stayed in many budget hotels, especially around Asia, but I have never seen a place use a bedsheet as a blanket. When I asked for a proper blanket, they simply gave me another sheet.
Overall, this was a very disappointing experience and not at all as described or shown in...
Read moreWe came to Manila to take our examination and its very near in our examination site. The place is with in the heart of Manila. The room is reasonable for its price. The staffs are accomodating. It's room is clean and value for money is good. Although we dont have any free complementary such as breakfast and toiletries. Still it is ok because there are near groceries stores and food shops few blocks away. There are few coachroaches i have saw during our 5 day stay. But its on minimal and scarce. During our last stay, when we are late to our flight and need to rebooked our flight and we faced a little issues. However they still accept us and continue our stay. Because of that i will give them 5 star rating. On top of that they were very strict on letting guest come in due to its Covid 19 issues and we need to present first rtpcr negative result. Yet they allowed us to get us in because were full vaccinated. I recommend this place for future stay...
