Sun Plaza Subic — Hotel in Olongapo

Well, actually i was gonna say that the hotel needs to do some minor renovations.. but i just read some of the reviews here from 2018 that have the same observations that i do. LoLs. ||||I honestly thought that the reason for the not so perfect shape the rooms are in was because of the pandemic. but the problem seems to have been present since way before pandemic even started. ||||The location is pretty good, plenty of parking spaces for everyone. There was no breakfast served at the time of visit of the pandemic. but ordering via delivery apps is easy anyway. I would suggest trying CafeDeli on your ordering app. the food that you will get is miles better than what jollibee or mcdonald's can offer you.||||anyway, rooms... there are some complaints and some issues that may be a deal breaker for some people. for example... there is standing water underneath the bathroom tiles.. water spews out like a little geyser when you step on that said tile. ||||even the restroom on the first floor is in bad shape. the tiles are all broken because of standing water underneath those tiles. The rooms need some major updating, of the paint and the fixtures and especially lighting. ||||i dont think the management reads the reviews.. but yea says subic bay corporation owns this place. sounds like government run hotel, to be honest. Dividerò questa review in 3 parti: stanza hotel – sauna spa – colazione breakfast.||||Stanza hotel.||Non è una stanza ma un appartamento vero e proprio. Tanto per darvi un'idea è più grande dell'alloggio di dove vivo a Manila e ciò che sorprende e che tutto è curato all'estremo.||Frigo e ogni utensile per la cucina, disposta benissimo con il suo lungo piano alto. King size bed che ti fa davvero sentire un Re, se la tua compgna non ti rimane attaccato a dormire tutta la notte...un materasso nuovo super confortevole, un TC lcd grande con Cignal (unicoprovider nelle philippines a offrire il servizio visione canali in HD, simile al nostro SKY per intenderci) ampi guardaroba, grande balcone con vista mare dove poter mangiare volendo, porte e finestre insonorizzate e meraviglia delle meraviglie; la tazza del bagno ha incorporato in se un bide automatico, con una manovella sono azionabile due asticelle con gettito d'acqua. Doccia grande (colendo si può farla in due) con vetrate trasparenti in cristallo. Si vuole davvero soggiornare a lungo in questo Hotel. C'è stata pianificazione e progettazione per la cura al dettaglio. Ho chiesto per curiosità di chi fosse la proprietà, mi hanno risposto Giappone. E beh il concetto di Qualità è nato appunto in Giappone e al Sun Hotel si vede al 101%. Sono soldi davvero spesi bene, più o meno 5k a notte. HO goduto di una piccola promozione/sconto dal sito Agoda. L'unico piccolo inconveniente se cosi voagliamo chiamarlo è stato al mio arrivo quando mi hanno chiesto 2k per un deposito (quasi tutti gli altri hotel usano farlo qui) gli ho risposto che non essendoci stato scritto nulla sulla prenotazione dal sito Agoda non ero tenuto a farlo. E così è stato.||||Sauna e spa||Sauna moderna nuova grande con lettini e con due bracieri con sopra le pietre calde dove riporre l'acqua e trasformare la sauna dry in un bagno a vapore caldissimo come piace a me. Il pozzetto dell'acqua fredda fuori e poi la vasca jacuzzi con idromassaggio sempre funzioanante. Docce dotate di shampoo, lotion etc. Tutto e nuovo e pulito. La sauna e accessibile a pagamento anche da Clienti che vengono da fuori, non ospiti dell hotel. Per gli ospiti invece tutto è incluso.||La spa: per la prima volta da quando sono qui nelle philippines mi è stato dato un foglio dove descrivere le zone del corpo da accentuare il massaggio e quelle da evitare più altre domande utili ||come l'intensità della pressione. La sauna e la spa seguono il concetto di Qualità come per l'hotel, nulla è lasciato al caso.||||Colazione breakfast.||C'eravamo solo noi ! Tutta la sala per noi. What's Good: ||- Good location (near the beach and within Subic Freeport zone)||- Friendly staff||- Spacious and sufficiently equipped rooms (e.g., so many cabinets, has a kitchen)||- Sufficient parking space||- Quiet and peaceful||- Really nice view of the bay||- Free use of gym, sauna, and Jacuzzi||- Free WiFi (slow but still useful)||||Improvement Areas: ||- Breakfast can be improved||- Staff can be trained to be more proactive and responsive (like when you make a request and you need to follow up because it seems to have been forgotten or staff not constantly checking on the spa locker area so that forgotten stuff by guests are quickly placed in safekeeping. My son lost his swimming trunks here.) ||- Bathrooms can be better equipped (e.g., no towel hangers). Hotel can be more generous with personal toiletries/amenities (we had 3 small shampoo bottles and 3 small soap bars for 6 guests for 3 days. Comb provided is painful...
