We stayed at Palayan Paradise Huts in Port Barton, and it was a fantastic experience. The huts, which are small wooden cabins with coconut leaf roofs, are very cozy and well-maintained. They run on solar panels that charge batteries, providing power for lights, fans, and phone charging during the night—a very useful feature. The beds and pillows are very comfortable, and despite being located above rice fields, we hardly encountered any mosquitoes, thanks to the efficient mosquito nets.
The hotel is well-located, a bit towards the edge of the town but just a short walk from restaurants, boat tours, and even White Beach. Although the path to White Beach is quite challenging, it’s still closer than from many other hotels in town. Additionally, there’s an unpaved, sandy path leading to the hotel from the main road, and when it rains, it can get very muddy and a bit inconvenient.
At night, you can hear party music coming from the town until around 4 a.m., but it didn’t bother us. In fact, the sound of frogs and crickets from the surrounding fields added to the peaceful atmosphere.
The bathrooms were very clean and well-maintained. Although they are shared (there are two bathrooms and showers for the whole hotel), cleanliness was excellent, and we had no issues. It can be a bit inconvenient to step out of the hut to use the bathroom or shower, but it didn’t detract much from the experience.
The service was exceptional. The owner, who lived and worked in Barcelona for many years, speaks Spanish, which made communication very easy. Maica, who helped manage the place, was always incredibly attentive. We communicated via WhatsApp, and she was very responsive, ensuring everything was smooth during our stay.
The hotel does not offer a restaurant or breakfast service, but there are plenty of dining options nearby, just a short walk away.
In summary, we had a great stay in a peaceful place with attentive service and beautiful surroundings. We highly recommend Palayan Paradise Huts and hope they continue to...
Read moreWe are very happy to have chosen that unique place in Port Barton. With only 3 huts make it a very special and quiet place to be. It’s located 10 minutes walking from the beach and town center which we loved to walk. That make this location a quieter place. Although you can listen the party music from other resorts 300m away (but this happens all around town).
The huts where very clean and cozy as well as the toilets, showers and common areas. Every detail it’s taken into account with lots of love. The beds where very comfortable and we could rest very good.
We where very surprised that even being in the middle of a green field there weren’t many mosquitos. Although we recommend to bring some masquito-spiral.
Maike, the manager is a very sweet person and was willing to help us with anything we needed. From tour organizations, rent a bike or transportation. Also they offered very delicious breakfast (both Phillipino and continental) which we loved.
If you are planing to go to Port Barton we recommend you to take your earplugs, since from 4:30AM in the morning you will listens the rooster singing competition from all over the town. That was charm though :-).
If we ever come back to Port Barton we will repeat! Thank...
Read morepalayan paradise are these super cute huts on top of a grass field in port barton.
being a hut, in a remote beach town, naturally there were many bugs. we expected as such, but the huts didn’t have a good enough screen for them. many bugs, bug wings, and dead ones fell from the roof. immediately the staff helped by changing our sheets and room, they also provided us with a motorbike rental.
in addition it’s close to a bar, which has music loud and often. sleeping in a hut, you can hear everything :) but that didn’t seem to bother us.
lastly in a place this hot, i think you should look for a place with air conditioning. here there was only a fan, but for us it was too hot still.
overall, it’s a very cute place, quiet location ( not central ) and nice aesthetic. some bugs,...
