A Calm and Thoughtful Hideaway — Perfect for Friends! We stayed at this boutique gem in Siquijor and were genuinely so impressed with the space, the people, and the experience overall. If I had to name a “downside,” it would only be that the place is a little tucked away — so much so that tricycle drivers often weren’t familiar with it. They know the place as the "Academy" because there's a language school within the property. A sign by the road would really help! But honestly, this is such a small note in what was otherwise a flawless stay. From the moment we arrived, we felt the warmth of the team. Edu, the owner, was incredibly kind and accommodating, and the staff — Pat and Patpat + all the others — were nothing short of wonderful. Always warm, friendly, and ready to help with anything we needed. The atmosphere is calming and thoughtfully designed. There’s a large common area with a full kitchen you can use, hammocks to lounge in, books to read, and plenty of space to just hang out or get some work done. The whole area is quiet and fenced off, with a big open field in the middle that adds to the sense of calm. We stayed in the four-person room (not the bungalows, although they looked lovely too), and I have to say — this is hands down the best setup for groups, especially for girlfriends traveling together. It’s so spacious, and clearly designed with intention. Each person had their own cabinet with plenty of space, and the getting-ready area was a dream: a huge countertop with two sinks, lots of space for skincare and makeup, and a separate toilet and shower area so no one had to wait. The only thing missing was a full-length mirror — but even then, we managed just fine. Everything about this place shows care and attention to detail. It felt like it was designed by people who really understand what guests need, especially when traveling with friends. We felt right at home and would 100% stay here again.

Patricia, the manager of the estate, has some of the best customer service we have ever experienced. We booked the room last minute on the morning of arrival, and within an hour, she had responded, giving directions. Although they do not serve food or drinks, she was quick to offer water and a coffee as we got the early ferry and looked like we needed it. It was a busy morning and even though Patricia was zipping between rooms to get them ready for the next guests (something we have never seen from a manager), she was still available to rent us a moto and recommended a restaurant to eat at. We instantly recognised her dedication to customer service and trusted her completely to look after our bags while we went to explore. There was a cancellation for the next two evenings, and Patricia remembered that we were wanting to stay, so gave us first refusal before relisting. She even helped us book our next accommodation, a tuktuk to get us there and has continued to be our unofficial tour guide for the island and our trip to the Philippines, we honestly can't speak highly enough about her, as you may tell from this review.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Mhari Bungalow in Siquijor! The location is perfect — right in the middle of everything, making it easy to explore the island. The real highlight of our stay was the amazing manager, Patricia. She went above and beyond to help us out when we decided to extend our stay, but Mhari was fully booked — and so were most other hotels since Siquijor was so busy. Patricia didn’t just stop at making calls — she literally got on her motorbike and went out to find us a place to stay. Talk about a real lifesaver! Thanks to her kindness and effort, we were able to fully enjoy the rest of our time on the island. I can’t recommend Mhari Bungalow highly enough — great location, cozy accommodations, and exceptional service. If you’re heading to Siquijor, this is the place to stay!

No desayunamos...
