Tori's Backpacker's Paradise — Hotel in San Juan

Basically one can say that the accommodation is suitable for backpackers. But you have to accept some inconveniences. Also suitable for couples with minimal requirements, as there are also private double rooms. However, the rooms are not air-conditioned. There is a fan in the room, but the accommodations are designed so that the wind that comes from the sea does not flow through the windows, but rather past them. Thus, one has to be prepared for very hot nights. Sweaty sheets included in the morning. The complex has a direct connection to the sea and a small beach section. Some hammocks are distributed on the area and one can relax well. There is WLAN, but only sporadically in the bar. There you can get breakfast or lunch and snacks for small money. As far as I know, there are no scooters for rent directly in the accommodation. But due to the location you need a scooter or you have to rely on the tricycles that drive you from a to b on the island like everywhere in the Philippines.

The rooms of the accommodation seem clean and tidy, but they are not very well isolated and it is possible that geckos spend the night in the room and wake you up in the night with...

Travelled yesterday to Siquijor, and unfortunately, the hotel I booked is 45 minutes away from the port. I found this haven online. I went there and luckily there's one more room available (20 mins away from the port) Surprisingly, the room is in front of the beach!!! sliding doors made of glass made it much fantastic. They just have fan rooms, and electricity interruption on a daily basis for only 15 minutes. They have wifi at the bar and resto but phone's reception is not good here. If you're looking for a place to relax and get away from a stressful city, this spot is perfect. To make it 5, hopefully they'll have rice meals that's good for one pax only. Food are really good, except the weird sinigang (pork tamarind soup) with carrots haha. Staff are friendly, especially ate in the morning taking care of the restaurant. They know English, tagalog and their dialect. Overall I am happy and wanting to be back there...

Worst service ever and not according to the description. We booked a room with air conditioning and WiFi, we arrived, no WiFi and no air conditioning « ah yes sorry we know the description is not correct » well thank you…

The rooms are expensive for what it is (a bed with a fan & shared bathroom). We asked if they could do anything about the situation « just cancel yourself ».. it’s just not professional at all.

We ended up calling the booking service for reimbursement while they were laughing and playing games on their phones not caring at all (I had the wife of the owner on FaceTime call and she was just telling me that she couldn’t do anything and I had to cancel myself).

Overall, really bad experience, absolutely not recommend. 2min walk from there we found a place to sleep for the same price with private bathroom, air condition + WiFi and very nice people. Avoid this place and go to...
