Unhygienic and Disgusting Staycation Experience

I recently stayed at Happygrey Hotel with my family, and I’m extremely disappointed with the entire experience. What was supposed to be a relaxing staycation turned into a nightmare due to the hotel’s severe lack of hygiene and cleanliness.

From the moment we checked in, the room was far from what we expected. There were visible stains on the bed linens, and the bathroom was in deplorable condition. The sink and toilet had not been properly cleaned, and there was an unpleasant odor lingering in the room. We also found cockroach,mold in the corners of the bathroom, which is a major health concern, especially when staying with children.

The overall state of the room was disgusting, with dust on surfaces and dirty flooring that clearly hadn’t been vacuumed in a long time. Showing a complete lack of attention to cleanliness as you can see on the photos where they wash and dry the linens,bath towels on a very dirty environment full trashed items.

Despite bringing these issues to the attention of the hotel staff, the response was dismissive and lacked urgency. No effective solution was offered, and we were left to endure the unsanitary conditions for the remainder of our stay.

I would strongly advise against staying at Happygrey Hotel, especially if you are traveling with family. Hygiene should be a basic standard in any hotel, and unfortunately, this place fails to meet even the most basic expectations. If you're someone who isn't particularly sensitive to the presence of ants, mold, or water that has a slight odor, then this hotel might be a decent option for you. The room itself is quite adequate if you're simply looking for a place to sleep during your stay. It's comfortable enough for a short visit, but I wouldn't necessarily recommend it for a long-term stay or for those with more specific needs in terms of cleanliness and maintenance.

One notable downside was the Wi-Fi connection, which was extremely slow. If you're someone who needs to work from home or rely on fast internet, this might not be the best choice for you. The connection simply wasn't up to par for tasks like video calls, large uploads, or anything that requires a steady and fast internet connection.

That being said, the hotel’s staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, which made a positive difference during our stay. They were accommodating and attentive, which is a major plus when you're away from home.

Overall, our stay was pleasant, especially when considering the price. It’s important to manage your expectations and recognize that, while the hotel offers basic comfort and convenience, it may not meet the higher standards some guests may expect in terms of cleanliness or amenities. We stayed at Happy Grey Hotel in Vigan for 3 days and 2 nights, and it was one of the best decisions we made for our trip. At such an affordable price, we honestly weren’t expecting much, but the experience completely exceeded our expectations.

The room was spacious, spotless, with cold air-conditioning and a reliable hot shower—everything you could want for a comfortable stay. But what truly sets Happy Grey apart is their warm hospitality and genuine care for their guests.

Traveling with our fur babies—a beagle and a golden retriever—can be a challenge, but the staff welcomed them wholeheartedly. A special shoutout to Ate Shin, who went out of her way to help me one morning when my golden got a little too mischievous. It was such a relief to feel supported instead of stressed.

The owner herself was incredibly gracious, even offering to arrange a trip for us to see a bagnet factory. Thanks to Kuya Paul, we ended up at what felt like the holy grail of bagnet. The bagnet was so delicious that it made the whole side trip unforgettable!

If you’re looking for a place that’s not just affordable and comfortable, but also filled with people who treat you like family, Happy Grey Hotel is the perfect choice in Vigan. We left with full hearts (and full stomachs) and will definitely be coming back. Highly...
