After so much delay (storm) we finally arrived in Vigan. we hailed a tricycle to rake us to the hotel that we found on a website. We dicided to stay here since its affordable, has its own swimming pool, it's near most local attractions and is a stone's throw away to Calle Crisologo. Did we mention tht one reason for picking this hotel is we like spooky looking places lol. Well, not really since the external appearance is totally different inside. the entire place is oozing with history. the way it was constructed reflects the skills of the builders who used stones, clay tiles and early forms of concrete to erect a large building that withstood the test of time. |We took our chance and did not book a reservation since we cannot contact the hotel thru their landline which was the only option to get in touch with them. Luckily, there were a lot of vacant rooms available so we were able to choose a standard double bed room close to the swimming pool and away from the streets which is filled with noise from passing vehicles. Obviously everything was old except for the shower unit and television as well as bed and linens of course. It did not smell or anything but rust and water stains can be seen in the toilet. It might need deep industrial cleaning since normal cleaning wont do. The airconditioner was really cold even though it looked like it had been salvaged from the scrapyard. The pool was really big but may need regular cleaning since the water felt a bit rich but not in a disgusting way.|Their service was spot on aside from their cheerful welcome and aproach. they even offered their fridge to store our pasalubong(bagnet and longanisa) as well as recommended a tricycle driver for our tour just to make sure that we wont be over charged. Nice people indeed.|Our accomodation comes with free breakfast(with coffee) however they always seem to have limited supply of vigan longanisa so i always had to give it to my girlfriend and opted for a different one (everything to make the lady happy..lol).|In summary, we couldnt be more happy during our stay and we will...
Read moreAn affordable price for the three of us with Filipino breakfast included. Just a short walking distance to Calle Crisolog. The hotel is quite old and scary outside but that's what it is since we are told that if you buy an establishment or building in Vigan, you can't change the structure outside, only the inside. The lobby and the corridor are really that old so if you believe in ghosts, this is not for you but I believe most of the hotels and transient houses here are the same. Okay, so when it comes to rooms, my friends and I were satisfied. They are modernized and furnished. Our room is big enough, with WiFi inside, TV, AC and a huge bathroom but it's a little bit dusty as the window was opened. My friend locked the bathroom door by mistake, we asked the staff to open it but they didn't have a key. They called a guy(he's working there I guess) to fix it with a screwdriver. I just didn't like how he talked to us like he seemed to be mad at us by doing that. Come on! We're guests, he should have treated us nicely as we asked them nicely too. Also, the hotel has a jacuzzi and a pool but no water and we couldn't use it during our stay as the staff said they will fix it on Monday but it's fine for us, we didn't stay there just to use the swimming pool. To make it short, I will recommend this to everybody but make sure not to lock your bathroom door if you don't want to be...
Read more🚗 Parking: The parking space isn't wide enough to accommodate all the vehicles when the hotel is fully booked. When we went there, our driver had difficulty parking as there were a lot of guests during our first day.
👧 Service: The staff were accommodating. However, we were disappointed when we checked in because one of the rooms wasn't prepared yet. When we arrived, the housekeepers were busy chit-chatting at the lobby. The receptionist told us that all the rooms were ready. When we entered one of the rooms, we were shocked to see trash and an unmade bed. The receptionist confirmed that it wasn't cleaned yet. Instead of taking a rest after a long trip, we still had to wait for them to finish cleaning. Take note, we arrived around 4 pm, so the room should already be prepared. But it wasn't. Instead, they were just having a chit-chat.
📍 Location: It's at the city center. It's near Calle Crisologo.
💰 Value: While the rate is lower, the quality of the room and service may reflect that.
🍛Breakfast: While other aspects of my stay were disappointing, the breakfast was exceptional and prevented me from giving a one-star rating. Their vigan longganisa was perfect! It was even better than those from expensive restaurants...
