Reviewing it from a perspective of a person who wants to just get the stuff and go. 1st time shopping there.
This place is a maze! I cannot believe i had to walk so far just to get one thing! People say IKEA is well designed store? Not for me! Conventional stores are laid out in more like a grid where you potentially need to take 2 turns to get to the aisle .Here, if you do not prepare, get to know the layout you may wander aimlessly for some time. You can call me stupid and say "there are maps" but to be frank if I need a map in a store just to get around it then the store itself is poorly designed. I would trade off staff quality and chap food over the layout. It really doesn't take much to make it work though.
In hindsight after familiarizing myself with a store this place is amazing for taking a walk with friends or some inspiration for new house/flat. Even though I was really annoyed and borderline mad while walking through the maze I did appreciate how the place looked. It's mostly clean and everything labeled. The staff was helpful and immediately sensed I need some assistance. Or they are told to do that. Either way It was nice.
In short: Layout of the store is infuriating for 1st time shopper Layout of the store is amazing if you want to just take a walk and see nice interiors Helpful...
Read moreLook, it's IKEA. If you don't know the store chain by now you have probably not lived in the modern world. It has just about anything furniture, kitchenware, bedroom, lighting, carpets or bathroom that you could want all under one roof. Ikea has a very simple business model, stack it high, sell it cheap and keep very stable product lines to have familiarity
The down side of shopping in there is that you spend money. You may go in for one thing and as you walk through you see a million things that you think that you need. You may as well go through the door and just put 300pln in someone's hand as you will spend it as you walk through, even if you don't exactly need any of the stuff you pick up. But it will be useful, right?
This store was very busy. The car park was full with people parking like idiots. Just glad that I don't drive.
Staff were queued up, but very friendly and very helpful even to a lost foreigner like me.
For my many sins, I love the hotdogs there, and in Krakow they are especially good value at only 1pln
So all in all, I went for a 1 pln hotdog and ended up spending over 500pln on things that I probably don't need but couldn't help it because the price...
Read moreUnlike just any other global IKEA shops, this one got a unique charisma. At the entry you have a small, cozy cafeteria where you can get freshly made coffee and sweet desserts, canapés, juices, etc. The back wall has a wall-paper that makes an illusion that you are sitting in a Library, creating a warm, cozy atmosphere. The Staff in the shop is very helpful and professional. We lost here once a notebook and wasn't expecting to find it, but to our surprise on our next visit a few days later one of the staff team recognised us and informed of the notebook that was left the other day - was found and ready to pick up at the front desk. That was a very nice surprise. They really do care about the clients and the team is working with passion and pleasure. The restaurant on the first floor is serving very good food. On some ocassions (winter season) they serve also traditional Polish Cuisine with Duck, or Goose meet, sorts of favourite desserts, drinks, etc. Have a good shopping...
