We had dinner here on a Sunday evening and managed to get a table for two without reservation, despite most other tables being occupied. The restaurant is centrally located in Warsaw, only a few minutes walking distance from the main station. It has a dark and stylish-modern decor, making you feel welcome immediately. They specialize in meat dishes such as ribs or steaks. We were served by a very friendly and professional waiter and ordered the duck broth with pelmeni as the starter, the garlic ribs (their house specialty) and the pork schnitzel as the mains and a Basque cheesecake as the dessert. All dishes were very well executed and refined, while being super flavorful and delicious at the same time. My highlight was the schnitzel, which was huge but very light and tender, so it definitely was among the best schnitzels I’ve had, and it can compete with the top specimens of its kind in Austria and Germany for sure. The ribs were fall-off-the bone and melt-in-your mouth tender and I can see why they are the house specialty. Finally, the Basque cheesecake also didn’t disappoint. It was creamy and rich but not too heavy - also helped by the beautiful presentation and addition of some acidic elements to cut through. The prices are not cheap for Poland/Warsaw but the quality is excellent, so I felt it was worth...
Read moreThe only plus of the restaurant is the food. It was really tasty and beautiful. We chose the place based on the rating. The rating turned out to be greatly exaggerated.
We had a table reserved for two. As soon as we entered the place, no one greeted us, you didn't know where to go, no identification signs. We went to the waiters' counter, they ran past us, because there were more important people sitting in the hall. We stood and waited for about 5 minutes.
They sat us down, gave us a menu, everything was fine here. We placed our order.
The immediate minus is that the forks are very crooked and there is no water for drinking and they don't even offer it. A big minus in the interior is that the lamps have different bulbs and this really affects the eyes. Our table was wobbly. The toilets were not cleaned, one had a broken faucet.
The most interesting thing began during the payment of the bill, when they brought just a payment terminal, without the bill itself, in which the order was written. After payment we recalculated the cost of the order and the amount of what we actually ate and what we paid for was different at 100 zlotys. To mislead us they brought us a "compliment from the establishment". The difference was returned, of course. But the impressions remained...
Read moreI am a selective meat eater, and I dislike giving negative reviews. However, this was the thinnest T-bone I have ever encountered, measuring only 1cm thick. There were also numerous flies, which is particularly concerning during winter, and the meat itself was simply pan-cooked.
I paid significantly more here than at other establishments, and while I am not sensitive to price, one would expect to receive a higher quality experience given the cost. Instead, the food quality was comparable to that of a highway gas station. For a single person's bill of approximately 450 zloty, I had an appetizer, a glass of wine, an entrée, and the T-bone. I expect proper napkins rather than cheap red paper towels from the supermarket, and I don't believe I should be charged for simple bread.
I visit Warsaw frequently, and although I don't usually promote specific places, I have to mention that Prime Cut Restaurant offers similarly priced meals, if not cheaper, with food quality that far surpasses this establishment.
Sorry, Zebra & Kości team, I dislike giving bad reviews, but for some miraculous reasons you are having ratings on Google you don’t deserve. Your fish soup is priced as on French riviera, please invest into a proper BBQ and try comparable offerings in Warsaw. You...
