First of all, the MDM B&B is not a B&B in the ordinary English-language sense of the term. It is an Airbnb-style room in a private apartment. I never would have found it if it weren't for a friendly, English-speaking person who saw me looking confused and helped me. You have to enter the courtyard near the street address "10" then look around to figure out which building includes apartment 22, then ring an unmarked entry buzzer. I've posted pictures showing the entry door (note: no sign of any kind) and door to the apartment.||||The lack of any official signage raises the possibility that this is not a registered hospitality business with regular inspections, etc., though I have no information on this.||||The room is basically nice (as displayed in the pictures) and I have added a photo of the basic but acceptable breakfast (bread, meat, and cheese). The shared living room is well-furnished. There is a shared bathroom.||||The bathroom was (almost) tastefully renovated but the owners seemed to have run out of paint: a large swath at the top of one wall was unpainted where the pain apparently had run out. And they hadn't used primer. The existing paint -- seemingly recent -- was already peeling.||||In general the managers are clearly amateurs with no real hotel experience (as of late 2015). In any accommodation (even a "B&B") that has a shared bathroom, the bathroom must be cleaned 2-3 times a day. So far as I can tell, the bathroom was only cleaned once during my 4-night stay. Shoe dirt marks that appeared there on my first night were still there on my third morning, and hair from other guests lingered as well. Similarly, though the rooms may not have maid service the trash must be emptied daily. Luckily the trashcan in my room had a lid, because my first night banana peels from night 1 were smelling pretty bad by night 4.||||The location, however, is fantastic (on the south edge of the city center, across the street from Polytechnica metro station, and in a neighborhood full of hip restaurants and cafes). And the internet is very fast. I can't highly recommend the hotel (at any price) but I have to admit that once I figured out the strange situation everything worked fine. There were no disasters. But this is definitely a private Airbnb, not a real B&B or hotel. It does not belong on...
Read moreI have not received any instructions on how to get there. It was impossible to call the provided number, and after 2 hours of searching, I spent another hour knocking under the door, but nobody came out. When I left a negative review on Booking.com, they claimed that I didn't show up, so they kept my money, and my feedback was removed. These are...
