Been here on Monday 13th May, for dinner with my husband and his brother. What a great time we had. The location in Central Warsaw is very accessible and in beautiful surroundings merging old and new architecture. The restaurant itself is in the corner of the street giving you wide views of the beautiful and lively surroundings through the balcony area downstairs or from inside. We got a table downstairs in the balcony area, which was our preference also.
The restaurant is so good and you know it when there is a queue at the front. We queued for a short while before being greeted by the lovely waiting staff all dressed in typical Czech attire which made the atmosphere even better, matching perfectly all the classic and typical Czech furniture and decor.
Konstanty was our table's waiter and he was very attentive, friendly and good fun also. He made our dining experience extra special, looking after us to ensure all was well and nothing missing. Konstanty provided excellent customer service and made us feel very comfortable.
Really nice ambience, which was completed with live music. The musicians were great, playing really nice classic and lively Czech and Polish songs that made everyone enjoy their time there a little further. Fantastic musicians!
The menu is varied and inclusive to all, from kids, to quick bites, starters, hearty meals and vegans. All typical Czech cuisine of course! At its best!
We opted for the classic Sznycel and the Highlander's potato pancake with goulash. Both dishes are incredibly delicious and value for money. The portion size is generous, so be sure to be hungry. 😊
For drinks, we had vodka shots, Czech beer by the jug, house wine 1/2L garafe and at the end, the house complimentary's cherry liqueur shot to close with the bill.
The restaurant have different promotions throughout the week and on Mondays it was the Sznycel with a drink.
We arrived at nearly 21:00hs and the restaurant was incredibly busy for a Monday evening, which is true testament to the great experience this restaurant provides.
Will definitely be back next time we are in Warsaw visiting our family.
Recommended for anyone wanting to enjoy great food, ambience in a beautiful location.
The staff is well engaged, offering fantastic customer service and an all around...
Read moreI'm writing this review not to judge the cuisine, but the bad experience I had in this place. Is it possible for a waiter to verbally attack a customer for accidentally spilling a (yes, one!) shot of liquor on his tray? Yes, it happened to me in this place. Last Friday, after paying for my lunch and going to the bathroom, I was heading toward the exit, where I was stopped by a waiter who, looking at me badly, aggressively told me that I should have paid for a shot that I had accidentally spilled on his tray while leaving the bathroom. All this happened in front of other customers. I couldn't believe that this was actually happening, something like this had never happened in any restaurant I've frequented in Europe.I was somewhere between shocked and humiliated. I kept repeating "Im Sorry, im Sorry" while he doubled down by telling me that the spilled shot glass had dirtied one of his colleagues' uniforms. Even then, I kept apologizing, I couldn't believe he was asking me to pay him back for the shot glass or the cost of cleaning the colleague's uniform! But I would have done it even if he had asked me in a nice way, without humiliating me in front of the other customers. I was so ashamed and at a certain point I won't deny that the rude way the waiter was addressing me was starting to worry me. At a certain point he rudely told me to go away and I left while continuing to apologize. I couldn't believe that this had really happened, I felt humiliated and offended. How is it possible that a customer, a tourist, is treated this way in a restaurant by a waiter? How is it possible that a waiter address a customer in this way just because he accidentally knocked over a glass of liquor from the tray? What would have happened if I had dropped a plate? Draw your own...
