This is an older hotel that does not have an elevator, and the stairs are not suitable for a person with climbing difficulties. The hotel is though in one of the best locations in Evora (Ev or a) as there is are town squares behind and a block away with shopping, restaurants, bus, taxi, and tour pickup areas. ||There is a restaurant in the building, and several behind it. The Chapel of Bones is a block away, the Clock Museum about a five minute walk. Almost everything you might want to see except the Aqueduct is within minutes of walking. There are two or more pharmacies a few blocks east. ||Rooms are few and small, and like many older buildings not particularly up to American standards, but each is sufficient for a day or two stay. Bathroom is a shared bath for some of the units. Management is the owner, and she is responsive to your needs. There is a free breakfast of sorts, you do your own cooking and cleanup. Door locks and coffee pot take a little...
Read moreGreat location near to Chapel of bones and other sites in the old town. Parking is difficult but we managed to get free parking at the Arena d’Evora. From there it is a 5 min walk through the park to the entrance to the SW corner of the Chapel of Bones. The park does close around sunset so after that you have a longer walk through the streets.
The property is ok, we had the family room which was alright. Only issue is the shared kitchen and whilst we were there somebody started cooking spaghetti and clattering around the kitchen after midnight which was next to our bedroom.
We may have been unlucky but we found the complimentary breakfast was only partly available as one or more of the other guests we assume was taking more than their fair share as the host left it on the kitchen table the night before.
The host was very helpful but she doesn’t live at the property so breakfast items tended to go missing after she left...
Read moreClean and a great location for a short stay. The room was quiet, even with the people in the street below. The shutters kept the noise level down. It was very clean. The little kitchenette with rolls, and teas was very nice. Loved the closet we could lock and put our bags in. We were greeted warmly by the woman who showed us our room. Very good location! Close to old city center and the Bone Chapel The common area kitchen was stocked with pots and pans, etc to make you own meals if you wanted.
Disliked · The airco did not work. So we had to have the windows open until the room cooled off. The parking was a big issue as it did not specify that we had to find space a few blocks away and carry our luggage to the hotel. The description was not clear that the parking is on a public city lot about a 1/4 mile away. Breakfast was very basic only bread, jam, and butter and make...
