Hotel Apartamento Solverde — Hotel in Espinho

The reception staff were always friendly and helpful. The hotel was always clean. The location was perfect, right on the beach at the front and at the back there's loads of shops, cafe's, restaurants, the train station and a casino next door. Lovely promanade along the beach for walking, very nice town, lovely streets, beautiful architecture - the tiled houses etc, so lovely!! There's a playground 5mins from hotel but also parts of a playground split up running along the road behind the hotel. So there's a trampoline in the ground right behind the hotel, then further down a Zipline and then a slide, kids really enjoyed that. The beach is beautiful. It's a bit rough, but everyday is different, some milder than others, lots of people out in it, we can't swim so stayed close to the shore, lifeguards on duty everyday. Beautiful to watch it on the rough days. There's a lovely breeze always in espinhol so even though it's hot and sunny it's also very comfortable. The apartment has no air conditioning because you don't need it, they're really cool rooms. We booked a one bed apartment but were given a 2bed, which was a lovely start to the holiday for us. The apartment was so spacious and clean, the view (10th floor) unbelievable, lovely sunsets! A walk-in hall, a large separate kitchen (with a really handy separate large sink for hand washing clothes),a living area with couch and table and chairs and they set a separate bed there for us, then a bathroom, single bed room and a double bed room. Cleaners came everyday I think and changed beds once. We had a wonderful holiday here, I would 100% stay here again if...

The hotel is basic but very clean and the room was cleaned every day . The only criticism would be no tea or coffee on arrival as we arrived late and really needed a drink . The staff in the hotel are extremely polite , friendly and helpful . It’s in a great location and we chose to stay here because the train station is literally a 2/3 minutes walk . Easy access to the very beautiful Porto on two days using the very efficient and extremely cheap public transport . Try to avoid rush hour for travelling as it gets packed . Then a train ride to Aveiro too - like the Venice of Northern Portugal . Espinho itself is charming and quaint with a laid back feel , although in October is very quiet . We even had good enough weather to swim in the sea on two days day near to the surfers . ||There are also some lovely bars and restaurants . Crowd bar just around the corner is lovely with warm, friendly staff , great value and good for breakfast and a coffee. The View just around the corner which is great for live Portuguese music at the weekend and excellent staff , decent Porto tonico ! |Sapiens restaurant for a lovely Francesina Portuguese meal . There’s a lovely Italian restaurant , some kebab houses etc. for cheap and cheerful . ||I would recommend staying here but I might prefer the summer for a longer stay . Really helpful staff, we arrived late on Sunday and no problems at all with late check in. 2 adults and 3 children shared a two double bed apartment with a bed/couch in the main living area. Kitchen has everything you need if you want to cook and a good size fridge with ice-box, toaster, kettle and microwave. Separate sink to hand wash clothes and rack to dry them on. Really clean and towels/kitchen equipment provided. Espinho is a lovely town with lots of restaurants and coffee shops plus the casino and bars. The beach is fantastic , clean and great for surfing/walking/football/volleyball or just chilling with a book. The cycle path runs all the way to Porto. Great access to the roads if you want to travel further afield with Porto only 25 mins away. We visited lots of places by car and had a lovely time. Highly recommended this apartment hotel, really great location, clean, fabulous staff and great for families. The only problem was the location of plug sockets in the bedrooms , there was only one in each and they were in strange not accessible places BUT using an extension will solve this. Definitely will come here again if we're in Espinho. Eskimo ice-cream shop/bar is just nearby and we would recommend there too, great coffee, ice-cream, gofre (waffles), friendly staff and you can watch...
