3 star stay in a 3 star room at a 5 star price..! We travel full time. We spend every night in a motel as we do not own a home..So we have a bit of travel/ hotel experience. Not sure where the 4/5 star reviews come from but this is 100% not either..trust me. 3 stars at best. Small rooms, small bathrooms. We just came from Japan and just thought we had seen " small" until Faro Boutique..very minimalistic as well. No amenities..we got 1 bottle of water for 2 people for 7 days..guess we were supposed to split the water..IDK..never seen that before. Usually its 2 bottles and you get 2 each day...hummm . We got 2 coffee pods. Again for 2 people..I went to the front desk and asked for more. I was told they are .50 cents each...huhhh..?? We are there for 7 days...we just bought instant coffee..that's just cheap. Sorry..but when you pay what this place charges you should get all the pods you want..and little paper cups for your coffee. No real ceramic cups..ridiculous..!! The walks and floors are thin..we had a World wrestling match in the room above us one night...yelling and banging from the lobby on several occasions..just not quiet.. The floors are all scuffed up, scratched. They look dirty but I thinks it just years of wear and tear. The beds are old, big dip in the center of them. No comforter at all. Just a thin sheet. Small pillow. Bathroom has no shelf space. Just the sink and the back edge of the sink. There is a big window looking into the bathroom. Weird..like why is there a window? It's almost the entire wall. There is a curtain that you can lower to block the view. But it still leaves some space on each side. Maybe a blackout curtain..or just sheet rock it in. Cheap towels...look...this place is clean. The staff are very nice. The rooms are clean. The location is okay. There are steps getting into the motel. A Tiny slow elevator. ...Would I stay here again..probably not. Not for the price point, not for the amenities. I might look...
Read moreWell we were upgraded to a room with a small balcony and a bed settee as well as a double bed in . Room had a coffee machine in but wish you could just get hot water as not everyone likes coffee. Safe deposit box and a fridge free with room . Plenty of storage. Strange to have a glass bathroom right next to the bed ( literally). To get privacy whilst in the bathroom you need to put an electric blind down . Not the best idea . Would be very awkward if you weren’t close to your companion with you. Room cleaned daily . Continental breakfast was lovely and fresh. Staff friendly and polite. Lots of restaurants and bars around every corner worth having a look around from different directions. Roof top bar but not open when we were there. Good for sunbathing. There is car parking outside but always busy and you need to buy a ticket .Air conditioning doesn’t work below 20*C . When windows are closed very little noise from outside. Aeroplanes come over quite regularly. Came here in December and very surprised with the weather and the hotel . I wouldn’t use this hotel in the summer months as with the bathroom right by you you always get the heat , smells and air conditioning not cool enough for me. Steps getting to hotel but small lift for the fours Good price and seems it’s classed as a 3 star it’s definitely that . Two things needed for room mirror in the room , kettle instead . 3 ⭐️ for room, 4 ⭐️ hotel , 4 ⭐️ for staff...
Read moreFaro Boutique Hotel is an extremely conveniently located hotel. The rooms are clean and comfortable, though there aren't many outstanding features.
It's perfect if you are looking for anyone looking for something that isn't going to cost a fortune but wants a decent level of comfort and convenience.
The hotel has a nice roof top bar, but it's very much on the quiet side of things so service may be sporadic.
Every room has a balcony so you can enjoy the sun with a coffee in the mornings.
In terms of location you are only a few minutes walk from most of Faro's attractions such as the old town, shopping district and marina so it's a super convenient location.
Just across from the entrance there is a little cantina (Cantinha de Ronha) which I highly recommend for somewhere cheap to eat, but don't underestimate it. The food is simple but fantastic, portion sizes are huge and it's incredible value for money, not to be missed especially if you're staying at this hotel.
All round I've very much enjoyed my time here, I'd definitely...
