We were looking for somewhere to eat for dinner, and this place looked ok when we made a reservation. The restaurant is fairly small and the menus looked a little different and interesting..
However, we were really dissapointed with the quantity of the food when it arrived. Although stated as main courses, all the 4 meals we ordered were only starter or snack size, but with a main course price. For example, the chicken dish at €15 is only some shredded chicken with a few crisps, and a very small rocket and tomato salad, The mixed charcuterie board was 3 small pieces of cheese and a slice of ham and a few grapes, no bread or crackers etc. So, about 1/10 on the value for money scale.
The wines are advertised as being from €4,50 a glass, but there is no House wine, only the wines on display on the shelves. We eventually settled for the cheapest we could see at €32, but this was out of stock, so were offered one at €34. To be honest, it was not as nice as the €10 house wines we had been enjoying in Carvoeiro.
The restaurant was also very quiet in the evening, although a little busier in the afternoon when we made our reservation.
The staff were pleasant enough, and the food tasted fine, thwre just...
Read moreI actually came here twice last November but forgot to write a review and was surprised to see so many low reviews! We did come out of season but we found the service to be really pleasant and the food to be delicious so much so we came back the next day. My only slight critique (this could have just been miscommunication on our side) is that on our first visit we were asked if we wanted 1 litre or 2 litres of sangria and we opted for 1, the next day we came back asked for 2 litres but we were told they didn’t offer it which confused us a little, but nonetheless the food was fresh, tasty and came quickly and the drinks, especially the rose sangria was lovely! We also loved watching the birds from the outdoor seating area! Will definitely return when I visit faro...
Read moreI was excited to find this wine bar, and hoped for great things. It was a quiet night, and the other people in there didn't seem to be speaking. It's difficult to walk round and look at all the wines and prices, so we put our trust in the owner, asking for a dry white. He pulled one out, and surprisingly it was 35 euros, when most in front of us averaged 25.It was an OK wine, but we had better for 18 euros at Cidade Velha. He never approached again to ask how was the wine or food. The croquettes were cold, and salty my goat's cheese was on a bread I couldn't eat, it was so hard. On paying the bill I said euros on my card, but when I checked later, the waitress did it in pounds. I got the feeling they didn't...
