Pastelaria Coelho — Restaurant in Faro

A very affordable place with big portions. If you're hungry and don't want to spend a lot, come here. Visibly a lot of locals come here too.

We went twice and had different dishes. The soups are great and recommended, the Bitoque (Portuguese plate with beef loin, egg, fries, rice and salad) is pretty good too. My girlfriend ate a sea food Black Spaghetti dish that she said are 8/10.

The second day we had Grilled Black Pork strips, these were amazing and came with fries and salad. We also ordered the Grilled Turkey skewers, that came with grilled but unfortunately slightly burned prawns, which completely ruined them for me, as well as a piece of pineapple, fries and two smoked ham rolls.

The waiters are amazingly kind and welcoming, speak good English and joke around lightly without being overbearing at all.

Can definitely recommend if you look for afforadable good food, that isn't quite high quality restaurant level but definitely a lot better and more fulfilling than fast food.

As for the atmosphere, the place itself is decent and definitely warm, but unfortunately they never turn off or dim the lights, so the atmosphere is a little weird. Sitting in a super lighted, almost too bright place at 9pm makes you not feel like your ending the night with a nice meal in a cozy place but more like you're sitting in a school cantine...

We’ve made several visits to this great cafe. On each occasion the staff and manager have been very welcoming, friendly and helpful. There is a menu available in English (and the manager will help his colleagues, if they need it, to also describe in English the daily specials). There is a wide variety of cakes and pastries, warm snacks and full meals, including local specialities. Servings are a good size. The foods we’ve had has been very tasty. Most of the customers are local, and there’s a nice atmosphere. The prices are so low; twice we’ve queried the bill to check that they’d included everything. Walk 150 metres beyond the main tourist...

A place to go in Faro. This cafe gradually turns during the day into dinner/bar. Regarding food... big portions and wide selection of meals (beef, pork, fish). I can recommend beef in black pepper sauce. French fries are perfect. Bar has big selection for drinks... I saw at least 5 different gins and 5 different whiskey, wines, beers and more... Service is excellent. Waitresses are very attentive and food comes in good time frame. Location is convenient. You can also buy your grocery there including numerous pastries, cigarettes, snacks etc. What to want more? And best thing is that prices...
