Early evening at Faro Marina is simply enchanting. This lovely spot transforms into a vibrant hub as the sun begins its descent, casting a golden glow over the water. The atmosphere is lively yet relaxed, making it the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring. One of the highlights of Faro Marina is the live music often playing at the local bar. The tunes add a delightful backdrop to the scene, creating a festive yet laid-back vibe that’s hard to resist. Whether it’s a solo guitarist or a lively band, the music enhances the experience and makes the evening even more memorable. As you sip on a drink from the bar, you can enjoy the stunning view of the marina with the sun slowly setting in the background. The reflections on the water, the boats gently bobbing, and the warm hues of the sunset create a picture-perfect setting. It’s an ideal spot for capturing beautiful photos or simply soaking in the serene ambiance. Faro Marina’s location is also a big plus. My second visit to Faro in 12 months. I loved it the first time and still love it on my second visit. This time, I went with my brother and sister in law so had company to enjoy the town more. Faro is a historic town, with lots of cobbled streets and tiled streets to enjoy shopping, the sites, cafes coffee shops etc. Boat trips from the Marina to different islands, and trips to see the dolphins. Although, we didn't stay to enjoy the night life of Faro, I'm sure that the town comes alive. There are music venues, live performances and a rooftop mandolin player above the Tourist information building. The tourist information office is a great place to start your Faro journey, where you can get a lot of details about places to visit and things to do. You can buy maps and guide books for these activities including bird watching and walks. I'm sure that I will visit again for sure.

I visited Faro for first time and it was amazing. The weather was so nice and there is so much to explore, specially riverside with all the historical buildings, restaurants, bars, cafe places and many more places to see. Also in riverside you can see trains passing by and you can catch a boat and go see the islands and the beaches. It’s beautiful in evenings, you can just enjoy a drink in a bar and watch the sunset with lovely view to the river.

Faro Marina is the place where you can find many kiosks - offering daily trips to Deserta, Faro, Caletta and Farol islands or a Kiok- for surfing lesson with Oscar. The trips take about 4 hrs for $35 euros or where you can take the ferry and just visit one of the many islands for $3.50 euros both ways!! Did both trips and enjoyed both experiences very much but if you are short one time and want to see 3-4 islands is worth spending the money!!

If you are making a special trip to Faro on the train or bus for one day, for me it was not worth the effort. There is not much to do or see once you have been to the main places near the centre. The Harbour is ok with a few quick boat trips. Thats it. Oh and the train station has no announcements or signage, so you will need to ask. One thing I did notice is that it seems run down and graffiti everywhere. Would not go again.
