Pestana Porches Praia I — Hotel in Lagoa

We have really enjoyed our stay here and the apartment was a great space to relax and make our home for a week. Porches is a quieter area of the Algarve but within east reach of main towns and only 50 mins to Faro. The beaches and cliffs are stunning and boat or kayak trips are available to the caves. We went from Benagil for a two hour kayaking trip which was wonderful. The apartments are right opposite a fabulous Italian restaurant Belmondo which I can highly recommend. If you like caramelised nuts try the almond pie, it’s amazing. |We were on the ground floor and had visiting cats, Felix and Tiger and a very friendly seagull. They all loved sliced chicken which was cheaper than cat food!! |I would recommend a car if you stay here. When we were here the roads were really quiet and driving was easy. We stayed in a villa for a week and it was very spacious and clean, very good breakfast. Liked the maid service everyday. Some of best hidden beaches in Algarve are very close by. My husband had a fall and broke his arm. Being in an unfortunate situation alone with your spouse is so terrible. Receptionist Sandra was an angle sent by God. . She performed first aid immediately, arranged for transport to a good hospital and was a moral support during our entire stay. I couldn't have handled the situation without her help and support. My heartfelt thanks to Sandra and other staff like Martha who looked after us very well. I would go back to this resort...

STAY AWAY!!! Terrible service.|Just landed in the Algarve and looking forward to a break. Checked in at 4:00 p.m. |Dirty kitchen and the room had NO electricity or heat and hot water on a very cold day.|The amazing staff at reception assured all guests that at 6:00 p.m. electricity would be on.|It's 8:20 p.m. and still in darkness with no heating and hot water.|Had to go to reception and ask for candles..they don't bother!|Will Never return here and will spend my money somewhere else with a...
