Restaurante Belmondo — Restaurant in Lagoa

If I could rate this lower I would. Absolutely horrible restaurant, food was disgusting and customer service was appalling. The front of house was an older woman, who looked us up and down, discriminated us and made us feel so uncomfortable. The only reason we didn't leave was because we were so hungry, it was late and the next nearest restaurant that had a decent meal was a bit of a walk away. We were made to wait half hour for a table even though there were at least 6 free tables outside and the entire inside. Everyone else that came in after us was seated before us. I think the only reason we got a table was because we didn't leave like they were hoping. Took 25 minutes to take our order. Another couple behind us walked out for the same reason. Then when food finally came it was disgusting. You can see from the picture the pizza was barely cooked and absolutely sopping, the toppings were falling off and it was just sitting in a puddle. The front of house woman kept giving us dirty looks the entire time we were there - hence we believe discrimination, as we were 3 young girls, 2 of which have a lot of tattoos. One of us went to use the toilet and a member of staff physically chased us across the restaurant, assuming we were going to leave without paying, as soon as they realised we were using the toilet they were fine... what?! 2 hours we waited just for the worst Pizza I've ever tasted - we ordered 3 and they were all the same. There was one gentleman that was kind to us, who gave us our bill and walked to the door to hold it open when we left, apart from that I have no idea why this restaurant is voted as high as it...

RIDICULOUS. Don't waste your time and money ....

One of the waitresses, apparently the boss, behaved completely differently with us than with other clients. We felt pulled under, she looked down on us and had a very unpleasant attitude. If it was because of our young age, it doesn't make any sense to me... We do not go to places we can't afford and we expect to be treated like any other (older) client ;) ;) ;)

We came to Belmondo full of good expectations and were told to wait as we didn't book, which was fair. Other clients arrived and started waiting. They were offered drinks while we weren't.

Once sat at the table, we only got the menu after another client made a remark to a staff member saying that our table seemed to be forgotten (40 minutes after we sat down). The food came after a reasonable amount of time but wasn't good, didn't taste like homemade and was according to us, overpriced. We did not finish our plates and none asked us if anything was wrong....!

While eating, our glasses became quickly empty and it didn't seem to interest anyone. We had to ask for a bottle of water. Not to mention we did not even get to see the wine menu...

We felt the need to share our feelings with a waiter which felt sorry for us but we didn't get any compensation...

Strange place we didn't have a reservation but we were told that wasn't a problem until an older lady on the staff seen us and this caused a very uncomfortable atmosphere and she made us move our table over slightly for what reason other than to make us feel uncomfortable as she was shouting at her male colleagues and made it clear she was not happy with us dining there and the table they had chosen to give us. However, all the male waiters were amazing friendly and attentive the food was delicious then she came over and almost put the bill through the table after she completely ignored our attempt at getting her attention to order desserts. We really enjoyed the food but it was a horrible experience inside the restaurant where we were spending good money as it is expensive to be treated by one member of staff like we were not good enough to be there customer service from this member of staff has to be vastly improved as it was nothing short of absolutely...
