We enjoyed a wonderful evening at a very family-friendly seaside restaurant, thanks to very nice and welcoming staff, a nice atmosphere with a view of the sea and cozy decorations, and outstanding food—from tender grilled octopus to a really, really good pistachio cake.
From the moment we arrived, the staff were very nice and welcoming. Our waiter guided us through the menu, answered all our questions, and made sure we felt looked after. Meanwhile, another staff member gave the toddler we had with us strawberries throughout the evening. The restaurant is truly very family friendly: we generally felt welcome, and a playground nearby was a real bonus.
The atmosphere is nice, with a view of the sea and cozy decorations that create a relaxed, inviting vibe.
The food was great. I had the grilled octopus—the octopus meat was very tender and tasty. The sauce with beans, chorizo, and vegetables was very rich and also tasted delicious. The rice that came with the dish was nice and sticky, never dry. Others in our group selected fresh fish from the daily catch, and everyone was very happy with their meals.
Desserts were also really, really awesome. I tried the pistachio cake with lime cream—light, nutty, and perfectly balanced by the zesty lime topping. It was one of the best desserts I’ve had in a long time.
All in all, a wonderful evening that exceeded our expectations. We can’t...
Read moreWe came in for a light bite and a cocktail after a stroll down the coastline. After seeing the menu we couldn't resist the ceviche. After the first, we had to order it again; it was delicious, it had such a rich taste. It was made with the fish of the day served with red onion, crispy corn, cherry tomato, red pepper and very unique, but a good combo, was the purple potato.
After this dish we had the pistachio white chocolate petit gateau with lime mousse on top, passion fruit curd next to it and some fresh blueberry, blackberry and rasberry. Again, beautiful combination of ingredients and a very rich flavour.
Next to it we had the classic margarita, strawberry daiquiri and the espresso martini. Also well made cocktails.
The staff is perfect; outstanding in their friendlyness.
We definitely recommend stopping by at...
Read moreI was pleasantly surprised to find this hidden gem of a restaurant located in the quiet resort of Vilas Marrocha right on the cliffs overlooking the sea. This lovely restaurant has amazing views of the ocean and cliffs, and even of the little white church Nossa Senora da Rossa. The menu is very creative and diverse, offering a variety of vegan and vegetarian dishes along with other new twists on meat and fish dishes. I have come for dinner several times now and even love this spot as a place to meet friends for their "light snacks menu" and a drink at sunset. Wow, what a treat to catch the sunset from the cliffs. Their passionfruit mule is my favorite. They make their own herb butte too, so make sure to get the Covert. Reasonably priced too. I...
