Restaurante Aquamar — Restaurant in Lagoa

The location of this place is amazing. Sea views and a nice little historic church/shrine nearby. Lovely terrace, other outdoor tables or you can eat indoors. We went quite by accident, as the bar next door didn’t take cards, so they directed us here. Had a few drinks then ordered food from the snacks menu. Great value. Went back for dinner a couple of nights later. Lasagna was huge and tasty and the fillet steak, cooked Portuguese style, was lovely. The food is very simple, but very good. Week we went there the other evening and were disappointed in the extreme. The two prawns with rice dishes were extremely salty. On mentioning this to the waiters on more than one occasion, total silence!! The owner of the place happen to turn up; he too ignored our comments about the meal. What we should, in retrospect, have done was to ask to see chef, get him to taste food because it was in reality quite unpalatable. We won't be...

We quickly got a table for 7 and promptly got beverages. The food other than the fish soup and chicken sandwich were not as tasty as we had hoped for.
