My daughter had booked a boutique apartment in Belem, so she thought!.We had to collect keys from a office near the airport from a man called luis also there is Luca and Rafaela that run the office for Bmyguest accommodation. We arrived at the apartment which was located in a very dubious part of town. The apartment was extremely small and very dark and damp. The windows all had bars on them and no rear access , so if there was a fire then you would be trapped. There were lots of plants and fig trees that were overgrown in the garden that the apartment backed on to which if you left windows open you got bitten by mosquitos. The apartment was filthy the kitchen utensils had dried food on them. The electrical appliances had burn marks on them. The extractor fan wasn't working .The hob had a chunk of glass out of it.The headboard to one of the bedrooms was absolutely disgusting!.The cups were so old one of the handles fell off as I was washing up and cup my finger very badly .There was no wine glasses. There were men congregating at the front of our apartment smoking and talking loudly and leering in to our apartment. The houses to one side of the house were boarded up and we discovered that the apartment was part of an hostel!.We found reviews where guests had experienced the same problems we had but three years prior so nothing had been rectified in all that time!.We contacted Bmyguest but to no avail and then contacted Booking.com who said they could totally understand our frustrations and why we wanted to move ,they couldn't contact Luis at Bmyguest either.Booking .com said they would sort the problem out in 24 hours but it took 3 days before we got an answer! They offered us not even half of what we had paid so we could not move anywhere else . We left early as it was so bad!.We feel completely let down by Be my guest and Booking.com for even having the audacity to have this apartment on their system!.Be my guest are total con artists DO NOT BOOK ANYTHING WITH THIS COMPANY !.Also shame on Booking.com for even using...
Read moreVery cozy guesthouse, the owners did a very good job in maintaining and keeping the house/room clean, tidy & organized. Close to the airport, about 13 mins walk or 5 min Uber. The room I stayed in was on the 1st floor and they did a wonderful job in designing the room.
João was very very nice & accommodating. I had called him from the airport that I will be arriving before the check in time at 3pm as they needed to clean my room. He said I could drop off my luggage at the house and explore the area/have lunch. I was having issues booking my Uber at the Lisbon airport and decided to call a Taxi, which took longer than usual. He contacted me to make sure I was ok and didn't have any issues getting to the house. He even stayed outside to help me resolve the credit card issues I had with the taxi driver. Afterwards he took the time to walk me halfway to the airport to make sure that if I couldn't get a ride to the airport in time the next day, I knew how to get there by foot. This was an amazing end to my trip in Portugal.
Overall, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND staying here. The owners are very hospitable, the location is peaceful & quiet. The proximity to the airport is a huge plus if you have a long layover or need to catch an early flight...
Read moreThis is a good place to stay at. my sister and I spent a week in be my guest hotel Lisboa. The staff was very friendly. The location was excellent. We could walk to downtown by just taking Praça do Chile and going straight on Avenue Alm. Reis. the room was a good size and the bunk beds were comfortable. The breakfast was also very good. You just have to let them what you need if you do not see it. I left after a week but my sister stayed two more days in a single room. There are shared rooms and from some of the people we got to meet, there were happy too. Lots of businesses surround this area and we ended up doing all our shopping on Morais Soares Street. We were able to go to Martim Moniz where every night there was entertainment etc. This is a very good alternative to expensive hotels I am used to as long as the private rooms are available and not the...
