I would recommend Libere Lisbon Principe Real to anyone staying in Lisbon. While not centrally located, getting to the main strip is maybe a 10-12 minute walk at most. The best part is that you are very close to a scenic lookout point (2 minute walk) and there are a lot of mini mercados to grab snacks, wine, etcetera.
We booked an apartment for 4 (1 Queen Bed, 1 pullout sofa bed) with 3 Juliette Balconies. The Welcome "gift" is nice, and includes a bag of Lay's potato chips, 2 Nespresso pods and 2 bottles of water.
The only thing that was a downer is that for stays of 7 nights or less, you don't get housekeeping. This means no replenished coffee pods or anything. We did request additional toilet paper and they were very responsible and accommodating.
Download the app to ensure you can check-in and check-out easily. We didn't (booked through Expedia and thought instructions would be sent through there),so when we arrived we didn't know how to access the building, let alone our room. Luckily you buzz and the operator helped us and everything else was smooth from there on out!
Can be a bit loud in the evenings if you don't close your balcony windows, but not an issue once they're shut.
Would stay here again next time I'm in Lisbon. A great alternative to a hotel. There's a microwave, stove, coffee machine, kettle, dishwasher and mini fridge. Cleaning supplies also provided for the kitchen. A nice "home...
Read moreWe have yet to make it to this hotel, but the lack of customer service we have received in making a booking has been nothing short of atrocious. I made a booking for 3 nights (over $1000 CAD). The booking type I admit was non-refundable. However after only 1 hr after making the booking we realized the dates were wrong by only 3 days. Expedia confirmed there was availability in the same room type 3 days earlier and they requested the change. I also emailed the hotel and explained the situation. Their policy states that no changes or cancellations can be made under this booking type, and despite their being availability and the booking being made only 60 minutes prior, there has been no flexibility. They want to charge me $766 as a change fee on a booking that was only $1000 to begin with. This is absolutely ludicrous and speaks to the terrible customer service this hotel offers. They could have made the change in a matter of seconds. But instead they are choosing to offer terrible service. I'm actually shocked. I'll never go back to this hotel and would recommend you find one of the many hotels in the area which will put customer service first. If i could give 0...
Read moreIt is centrally located near where some of the main action in Lisbon is happening. It is a significant challenge to drop off luggage in front of the hotel. The recommended partner parking is relatively far from the hotel. The rooms are relatively small. They do not offer a daily cleaning but offer cleaning as a supplement... The bathroom is by far the main drawback of this accommodation. I spend 70 nights a year in hotels and this bathroom is by far the most dysfunctional I have ever seen. Whoever has designed this must clearly have never used it. There is absolutely no counter space no practical shelving on the walls nor in the shower. Nowhere to put our personal hygiene products nor to bring soap or shampoo in the shower. We had to bring a chair in the small bathroom to use as shelves doing our best to cope with this horrible design. You may want to bring soap bars and shampoo since they only provide liquid hand soap and shower gel. The code to enter will not work before your check in time... But it will expire before your checkout time... So please be careful not to get locked out like it...
