It's a good idea to visit it when you have kids, they'll enjoy and there's a room for them in the entry plus the store for plushes! (shark, sea horses...)

Read moreIt is as cheap as you expect it to be. But... the area when you enter is o.k. and the cheap sides.. kids won't see it I think. Sea life tries to earn a euro where it can, that's natural, but looking sad if you don't want a photograph is just laughable. Good thing: the ticket is valid the whole day, so if you want to go to the beach because your child has enough, you can actually make 'half a day' out of it. As well, if you want something healthy to eat, which isn't possible at Sea Life, you can eat at a restaurant in the neighborhood or have a picnic at the beach if the weather is good and come back. Watching the penguins was sad, tiny area and the water looked bad. The 'Feeding the sharks' - show a joke: the employees microphone was working only occasionally, so it was hard to understand anything. He was obviously uninterested in what was going on. The feeding itself: there was a stick with three fishes on it held into the water, which were taken by the shark with a relaxed snap, and a lot of talking that was hard to understand. That was it. There is a playground (a wooden ship and a slide) outside that looked fine, incl picnic area, and a smaller foam-castle-thing inside, which looked boring but the kids liked it a lot. In total, it is what it is, but...
Read moreJust finished the tour and I am utterly devastated. I think in the year 2021 an aquarium should be based around education and not entertainment. There is a short section about the problems plastic poses to the ocean just to be crushed in the giftshop which is stocked with cheeply made plastic toys that will surely end up in the ocean soon enough.
Then there were the fish themselves. I remember the stingray tank (tiny and not offering anything that resembles their natural habitat) where all the stingrays had bloody noses from bouncing against the glass walls. It was disturbing and I am happy that this was the last stop on the tour.
As many visitors before me noted (I wish I had read the other one star reviews), the whole facility is outdated, mostly offers tiny tanks with plastic plants, little information on the different species beyond names and sizes. It fails to show our oceans as the interconnected ecosystems they are and will add little beyond (brief) entertainment for young kids. Disappointing in the day and age that we're in!
I am gonna donate some money to a...
