My stay at the Dom Henrique Downtown hotel in Porto was exceptional and offers a free service to store suitcases and bags while you quietly visit the city. The hotel is ideally located in the city center of Porto, close to many tourist sites and public transport. Trindade, Bolhao São Bento metro station is just a few minutes' walk away, making exploring the city easy. We stayed in a modern and spacious room. The bedding was comfortable and the bathroom was clean and well equipped. The buffet breakfast was plentiful and varied, with fresh, quality products. There was something for everyone, sweet and savory. The hotel's strong point is undoubtedly its rooftop restaurant located on the 17th floor. The panoramic view of Porto is breathtaking and the atmosphere is very pleasant. It's the perfect place to relax after a day of sightseeing or to have a drink while watching the sunset. The hotel staff is welcoming, available and multilingual. They listened to our needs. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a quality stay in Porto

Slightly older luxury hotels are a special and somewhat uncommon sort of gem. They are marked by a couple of specific features - they're a few decades or more old, but were built to high standards, are generally well maintained but perhaps show a little bit of age, and perhaps mostly significantly, continue to be staffed by employees who take pride in representing a venerable location. Dom Henrique definitely falls in this category. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and was definitely impressed by the bell, front desk and bar staff who went out of their way to ensure that I had a pleasant stay. I would go out of my way to stay here again and would advise others to do the same. Also, the bar is a quiet oasis in otherwise busy, touristy Porto. Drinks prices are on par with the surrounding area if not even slightly less, the 60's Brazilian bosa nova soundtrack fits perfectly with the decor, and the 17th story view is not to be missed. The bar might be the best hangout in all of Porto.

We stayed at the Dom Henrique Hotel in Porto. Very modern hotel. Breakfast was included. It is near the downtown and is centrally located. Twenty minute walk to the train station. Our room was on the 7th floor with king size bed. The bathroom has a large shower with a rain head. The room was large and the window opened. The hotel has a roof top bar and restaurant called the 17th floor Restaurant. We enjoyed nightcaps every night during our stay. Great hotel.

The management here is horrible. We rented a room for our vacation and we complained to management (Pedro Paiva) about the loud music and partying going since 1:00 PM. At 5 PM we had enough and went down and spoke with Pedro. I told him it’s been ongoing all day. And that we did not book a party room. His exact words where he can not do anything about it. I suggested to him to relocate us and he said I’d have to talk management on Monday. I told him he is the manager and we will not deal with this all weekend. He immediately said to deal with it. This is the most irresponsible manager and non customer service oriented person ever. He should no way be dealing with the public nor have this position. To tell a paying customer to dealt with. Showed he doesn’t are and isn’t fit for the position. I ask for his manager’s number and he refused to provide it. And said I could talk to him Monday. Do not ever book a room here they are horrible customer service. The General is Luis Perez and he should be firing Pedro for lack of customer service and how he does not handle situations in a professional manner. I will never be back to this hotel. And I would advise you to book elsewhere if you want top notch service. If you want slumlord service go ahead and book. A very unsatisfied customer. I will be call corporate...

The hotel is ideally located, not too far from the centre but still walking distance. It is also situated in an area with great places to eat and drink. The first impression is that it is very clean and checking in was hassle free. The room was okay. Despite it being a smoke free room there were cigarette burns in the curtains and stains in the carpet. The headboard which had s leather covering was peeling quite badly. Otherwise it was quite clean. We booked a room with a bath which we did not receive. I politely asked reception and it was due to availability. I would wish that that was mentioned whilst booking as the booking confirmation confirmed a bath and I would not have bought products for it. If I book again I hope the room condition would be better but let's chalk it down to bad luck. The breakfast was delicious and well worth it if you have to get up early for a trip or to go back to the airport. Checking out was also painless although we were charged for eating crisps from the mini bar but there were no crisps in the rooms. They removed this from the final bill. A cereal bar was set next to the free tea and coffee which we ate but the bar was not complimentary which seems a bit cheap. I would not book again despite the great location. I would search for something else...

The room was very nice and clean. The air conditioning worked perfectly. A serious complaint would be with regards to the fragrance that they pump constantly into the lobby which is so intense that I follows you outside. This is a big negative for someone like myself who is sensitive to fragrances. I can’t imagine what it would be like for an asthmatic! The location was wonderful as it was just a few minutes walk to the main tourist area and the large market. The staff in the rooftop restaurant and in the breakfast restaurant were lovely and efficient. The reason I gave a poor rating on the service was because of the one lady at the desk and her attitude. The hotel does not have a pool. There are several saltwater pools and other outdoor pools in and around Porto which I am positive that tourists enjoy using. My grandchildren were tired of walking and the heat and wanted a swim. I asked if they had beach or pool towels. She said no. I asked if I paid a deposit on the hotel towels could we take them to a pool. She said no. No apology or sympathy. Just a serious and emphatic ‘no’. I felt that this was very poor customer service as we stayed at this hotel for several nights having a suite and...
