Located in a 19th century (don’t quote me on that) townhouse, the Jardins do Porto is a really lovely small boutique hotel (guest house — because the staff are not on site 24 hours, but nearby and available via the smart phones they give you in case of an emergency). All of the staff were really friendly, kind and inviting. We learned about the owner’s story and how she conceptualized, designed and managed the renovation all on her own. The design is great, so many charming details. My only minor complaint would be that the rooms on the top floor had thin walls, you could easily hear the other guests talking, and their alarms going off in the mornings. I’m not sure if that is the case for every floor, since the top floor was converted into two rooms from the attic of the original house. If this concerns you, it may be worth it to ask to not be on the top floor. However, these rooms do come with the best view with a cute balcony and a nice lounge area outside the rooms. The breakfast is outstanding, perfect for vegans and vegetarians. They will make you eggs on request. The bar is great, they make really good cocktails. And the restaurant is wonderful. If you’re vegetarian or vegan you’ll find this as the perfect romantic spot for a nice dinner. If you’re not, give it a try. I’m sure you’d enjoy the food anyway. The service is also terrific. I would recommend try the risotto and the eggplant “caviar”.

We stayed in Jardins do Porto Boutique Guest House for 3 nights in November and had the most wonderful stay! The staff was incredible friendly and helped answer all of our questions about the area. On our first morning they provided breakfast in bed and it was an elaborate spread of sweet and savory items plus coffee and fresh squeezed orange juice. The house itself is beautiful and full of charm and color. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the location was perfect for first timers wanting to walk to great restaurants, public transportation and many of the popular streets and moments. We would love to stay there again some day!

This hotel is a charming spot in the heart of Porto. It mixes modern features with a historical feel. The rooms are cozy and stylish rooms, and ours offered a beautiful garden view. The staff is really nice and helpful. The breakfast is great and 100% vegetarian (with many vegan options). They also have a restaurant where you can enjoy a very good 100% vegan dish. Its location is perfect for exploring the lively local culture and cuisine. I highly recommend it if you want to visit Porto.

The hotel is in a good location, slightly out of the way but near enough to everything to walk - and I appreciated the long up-hills to work of some of the food and drink consumed!||The interior communal areas are very nicely decorated. Our room on the top, 3rd floor was fine. This is were I dropped a star because it was a small attic room, not much space to move around, and we were there for 5 days and storage was limited and awkward. The balcony was nice ( the view less so, apart from the sunset, but that's out of the hotel's hands). The one full length mirror is in the shower cubicle so not helpful when 2 people are getting ready; same with the only other face mirror which also gets steamed up in the bathroom and have to therefor wait to use. Maybe could provide more than one coffee pod per person. However, room service was fabulous, and nice to have slippers and bathrobes provided along with towels. ||The staff were faultless. The poor girls in the morning seemed to be doing everything, hotel admin, rushing to do breakfast duty and cok eggs, answering phone, back to cooking when more guests arrived - and they were always cheery and helpful without fail. The breakfast provision was good, especially with cooked eggs, and sometimes additional option of pancakes. All staff were faultless polite. ||The vegan meal in the restaurant was certainly to my taste but limited choices perhaps meant there wasn't enough for everyone. My food was delicious though, and beautifully presented. Again wait staff...

I just returned to the US after spending 8 days in Porto with my girlfriend. Jardin do Porto has truly exceeded my expectations. Prior to arriving, we had booked a shuttle to and from the airport (30 euros per trip, not by person). I believe Jardin works with a 3rd party shuttle service, but the driver was early, communicative, attentive, and very friendly.

When we arrived at the guesthouse, we were greeted by John (sorry if I spelled the name wrong) and he took his time to check us in and answer all of our questions. We were also given two welcome drinks that we could claim any time from the bar. The hotel itself is very clean, beautifully decorated, and has a very welcoming atmosphere.

Our room was equally spacious, we absolutely loved it. I loved how Jardin provided us with a smart phone for us to use to check out places to see in the area, including restaurant recommendations. It especially came in handy when we were driving to and from various places as our own phones had no internet access. They also allow you up to 15 minutes per day to make a local call from this phone, so we also took advantage of that to make various restaurant reservations.

We truly did not want to leave; Jardin was wonderful and everyone was super helpful and friendly. We would absolutely come back to stay at Jardin anytime we're...
