DO NOT RECOMMEND. We arrived in Portugal, and this rental was our first stop. The neighborhood did not strike us as safe, and we were concerned about our rental car. The space itself was relatively clean, but the floors were filthy. The air conditioning was too weak to cool the apartment, and there was only enough hot water for a single shower. Additionally, we arrived in Portugal as a state of emergency was declared in response to wildfires, and there were wildfires in the area. The entire apartment smelled of smoke, and when you opened the door, ash would slowly fall into the apartment. We contacted the host to reschedule our stay, and she pretended that she didn't speak English. She played the same game with Vrbo, when she finally responded to them. We messaged her that we were leaving, and she didn't respond for an entire week. We left on the first day of our scheduled four-day stay. She pretended as though we had stayed for the entire four days, and thanked us for keeping the place clean. She refused to provide even a partial refund. I would think twice before renting from this person. She's horrible, and uncaring, and the neighbourhood seems unsafe and far from where you'd want to...
