Moreira Terrace — Hotel in Porto

Booked a 3 night stay. Wanted to enjoy our last night in porto so we stayed out late and planned to sleep in. Randomly woke up at about 5AM (after 2 hours of sleep) to find a fat bed bug scurrying around on my pillow, where my head was laying only moments before. I managed to kill it but as you can imagine, we couldn't go back to sleep or back to our room. Contacted the property about the issue, they apologised and asked if we're ok, upon communicating our distress, they simply left our message on read.||Contacted Booking.com after that and they gave us a €25 compensation, however this didn't come from the property and doesn't even come close to making up for the stress, lack of sleep and the extra expenses we had to fork out for laundry to treat our items. In addition, we had to throw away multiple items as some of them couldn't be treated in hot enough temperatures that would kill any potential eggs and bugs. In addition our last night that we paid for was practically unavailed of as we paid to be able to use a suitable bed however, this was not the case and couldn't make use of our room.||It is completely unacceptable for the property not to take accountability of it's actions and realise the damage it has caused us due to it's negligence. It is the responsibility of the property to ensure that each room is fit enough to take in guests prior to doing so, yet somehow, we the guests are the ones who had to suffer the consequences of this negligence without any form of compensation. Location is very good, quite central and walking diatance to main attractions (25min), easy access with keypad, self check in. Apartment is clean and quite modern looking, but in old building so not everything is fully refurbished. Room is a good size for 2 persons, bit had too few storage options (only a shelf) and not enough surfaces for small stuff (only 2 nightstands). Bathroom has no hangers for towels even, and though it is quite modern looking (as in refurbished) the shower itself is very small (watch your elbows) and you have to squeeze yourself next to the sink/toilet/shower to open and close the door. Kitchen is common for the 4 rooms inside the apartment and although it has almost all appliances you need, they are all dates and old looking - which is undertsandable when having a commonn kitchen area. Noise-wise it was quite silent, but you do hear in mornings and evenings some extra knocking from the neighbours shower doors - or the ocasional couple banging the bedframe to the wall in the nightime, as it was...

No sé por dónde empezar, si por las puertas que se atrancan en las habitaciones, por las cortinas que no cierran y que hacen que sea imposible dormir a partir de las 6:30, por los colchones sucios o por la suciedad de la habitación que no nos barrieron en los 6 días que estuvimos allí.

Espacios: en cada piso hay 2 apartamentos y en cada apartamento hay 5 habitaciones privadas y 2 baños, una cocina y un salón comunitarios para los huéspedes de ese apartamento. No vayan en invierno, no hay calefacción. No vayan en verano, no hay aire acondicionado.

Toallas. Nos pusieron 2 toallas de baño limpias en la habitación al llegar, algo que agradecimos porque en ninguno de los 2 baños del apartamento había toalla de manos (el segundo día apareció una toalla y el tercer día desapareció y no se la volvió a ver). Las toallas no nos las cambiaron, así que el cuarto día tuvimos que abordar a una señora de la limpieza que muy amablemente nos dio 2 toallas limpias.

Ruido. Las paredes son de papel, así que desde aquí quisiera mandar un saludo a la chica francesa y a su acompañante que pasaron toda una tarde cantando ópera en la habitación de al lado, nunca imaginé asistir a algo así. Saludos también a las 2 chicas españolas que vieron American Pie en el salón comunitario y que no nos dejaban dormir con tanta carcajada.

Papel. El papel era como las toallas, material de contrabando. El primer día desapareció el papel de cocina y el cuarto día empezamos a temer por el papel higiénico, aunque nos fuimos antes de que se terminara.

Cocina. Funcionaba uno de los 4 fuegos de la vitrocerámica, el frigorífico pasó 2 días tirando agua y mojando el suelo y la puerta del horno no se cerraba y dejaba casi un palmo abierto, esto es lo más cercano a una calefacción que vais a encontrar.

Ubicación. El apartamento estaba lejos del centro, apartado de casi todo. Sin embargo, está a unos 10 minutos de la parada de metro de Campo 24 de agosto, que también tiene un hipermercado Continente muy grande en el que comprar provisiones.

Hemos agradecido tener cocina y el metro no demasiado lejos, pero todo lo demás ha sido un desastre. Tal vez exista la forma de que te limpien la habitación, de que te dejen toallas, de que te den papel. La cosa está en que no lo sabemos. El principal problema del lugar es la falta de información a los clientes. Muy poco...
