Lá em Cima — Hotel in Sesimbra

Fast and easy check in. Great cleaning and hygiene. Best with a car. Do not book your stay on the same day: host is not ready for that, as she mentioned. Tried to book in advance with Airbnb but not accepted , then booked in official website as I was near location already.

I do NOT RECOMMEND this stay for several reasons: mattress being very stiff and sheets super firm. Made me itchy and unable to sleep room as a peculiar smell, like it is never refreshed due to old furniture Does not provide shower gel, hand towels or even a small glass (no kitchen is available) NOISY: due to thin walls , you can hear everything that happens outside and inside the house and inside of other people’s rooms, like they are next to you. Has it is an old house and really old doors and lockers, it is common. NOT PREPARED FOR THE COLD. As soon as I checked-in noticed only a thing blanket was available and no air conditioning, heater or even extra blanket was available. TERRIBLE COMMUNICATION: when asking if an extra blanket was somewhere available, Yvonne told me to check downstairs wardrobe for one. Found two thin blankets, grabbed both. One of them had weird stains looking like blood even (photo attached). Following day I checked out and couple hours later , Yvonne texted me to check how was my rest. I appreciated the easy check in and cleaning but mentioned the situation with the blankets. She replied via audio message that basically it was my fault for not checking in or booking sooner and those blankets were of her personal use for painting therefore the stains (if this is the case, then she should not have offered them as a solution). She deleted the audio and sent another one saying more a less the same thing in a softer way and mentioning that I had one blanket in room (meaning the one in the bed). She deleted that audio as well and later sent a message saying “blankets are already in the room. One per bed already set, no extras. Sorry you didn’t have a blanket yesterday. Next time you will have a more pleasant rest”.

Found this approach to be extremely unprofessional.

If you do stay here: hope everything is better by then. Currently I do not recommend staying there even one night. Even if it is cheap, doesn’t mean it has to be uncomfortable, after all it is supposed to be an official Local...

The house is well located - close to the city center (15 mins walk down) and directly at the bus stop to Lisbon (5 mins walk down). There is a city bus from and to the center too from the bus stop near the house (5 mins walk down). The whole building is very clean. The bathrooms are cleaned several times a day, so I hardly noticed I was sharing mine with anyone else. The room is great and equipped with everything you need for a short stay. The terrace has a nice view. Yvonne takes lovely care of the house, the check-in, and the guests. Yvonne also very attentive to your special needs and try to solve it as practical as possible. The building is in residential area far from the tourism zone, very quiet. Free parking around the house. Great stay...

First of all Yvonne is the best she is so friendly alsways up for a chat and if she sees you late at the evening she will always ask if you need anything. And if you do need anything she will do it straight away and always with a smile. She is so sweet and kind. The rooms are clean the bathroom is clean and gets cleaned every day. Its not a very long walk to the sea and the stores or the bus. Overall great expirience was here last year with my mum and this year with my girlfriend if I ever would come back to Sesimbra I would definitly go back to La em Cima. Lots of love, Maud...
