Let me preface this with - there are only 28 seats total, and that was pre-CoVid restrictions. So, I’m hesitant to even share how outstanding this place is because I don’t want to have to wait in line to eat there again! But even if we had to wait, it would be worth it!...They accept reservations. Opens 7:30. Serves food at 8:00PM...A little off the beaten path of main streets. Outstanding food! OUTSTANDING! And absolutely - hands down - the best service we have ever received in Sesimbra! All the dishes are fresh and well-timed. The staff are incredibly professional, kind, and overly apologetic if they’ve guessed incorrectly that you may not speak the language. They have full training - clearly - on “points of service.” They mark the tables. (Restaurant people will know what I am talking about.) They serve from the correct side. They collect items from the correct side. They refill drinks at an appropriate pace. They clear plates at an appropriate pace. They ask kindly, before taking anything or adding anything to the table...I haven’t seen that in a long, long, time! (I really hope the staff that served us, read this - you were amazing!) And you’re table isn’t handled by a ton of people. One or two at best. Highly, highly, recommend the white port tonic with spiralized green apples and basil garnish! All the food is light and delicate! Four dishes and a salad was enough for four people! The desserts were outstanding as well! Images on my...

Read moreWe visited this restaurant in Sesimbra after hearing all the hype but honestly, it didn’t live up to our expectations. The interior is undeniably stunning and super Instagrammable; everything looks polished and fancy, and the presentation of the food is modern and creative, perfect for a stylish night out.
However, the portions were noticeably small compared to the price, and the food itself didn’t agree with us in the end. The deep-fried cuttlefish, for instance, was chewy and overly fatty. We got upset stomach after dinner. Service was another downside. it was very, very slow throughout the evening.
If you’re looking for a fancy dinner with a high-end feel and are willing to overlook the drawbacks, this might be your pick. For us, though, there are definitely better options in Sesimbra, and we wouldn’t be...
