I had the pleasure of staying at the Chedi Doha for the last week, sadly leaving today.
All in all a fantastic trip and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the hotel to people looking for the ultimate in luxury and service while they are on Doha. The location in my opinion is great - Katara cultural village is walking distance - lots of places to eat and walk around day and night. The hotel kindly offers to drop and pick up with their golf buggies in nearby areas (correct at time or writing ) which was really helpful as we have a small child and if can be tiring walking in the intense heat. It was really easy to call or whatapp them if a buggy was needed in the nearby areas.
Check in was quick as we got to the hotel very late at night. We were shown to our rooms and given a beautiful sea facing room with a balcony - glorious to wake up to in the morning . Room was of an excellent standard and in great condition - was kept very clean by housekeeping every day.
We had buffet breakfast daily at the restaurant- delicious spread of food with something for everyone. Eggs could be ordered at a station however you liked them. The hot Spanish lattes were yummy. One thing that stood out was the croissants- I mean I’ve been lucky enough to travel around the world and fortunate enough to stay in some nice hotels. These were the best almond croissants I have had , comparable to some of the best patisseries in France / London. My wife loved the pistachio croissants. I couldn’t help myself but have a croissant daily (diet needed when I go back!). Compliments to the pastry chef.
So many members of staff that were so kind, warm and friendly. To name but a few - Richard at concierge , King at concierge . Moncef at breakfast couldn’t do enough for us and so polite and friendly . Wasim at concierge helped us arrange a desert safari and also advised us on a good local restaurant to go to.
One person who stood out though and went above and beyond (all of the staff were really nice) was Chaima at reception. My wife lost her sunglasses and we tracked them down to an Uber taxi we had used the day before. I messaged him and he confirmed he had them. However he was a bit difficult when it came to arranging the return of them to the hotel (I did offer to pay for his drive over). We mentioned it to Chaima and she said she would call him up for us. She spoke to him in a very polite and professional way- and when he kept being evasive she reminded him of the Qatari lost and found rules and that you have to return things found here- (I wasn’t aware of these rules… I was pretty impressed after googling them!) and he had a legal obligation to return them. She was really firm but maintained a polite composure. Finally as the driver wasn’t being helpful as he said he lived far away- she said it was near where she lived so she would pick them up and return them to us. She contacted him the next morning and paid him to deliver it to her and then brought it to us. It was so thoughtful and kind of her, little things like this make such a difference . We asked someone on reception the day before Abou the same issue and he didn’t do much…. But Chaima was amazing. I wish her lots of success in her future career as she deserves it - she has excellent communication skills and goes above and beyond.
The gym was really nice , always quiet- could have done with a few more machines (maybe a rowing machine, step one to climb up) but again these are minor things and I know it’s a new hotel so takes time to work on these things. The gym was lovely and clean and the machines were all new so can’t complain! One other area of constructive criticism is one day at breakfast we ordered a coffee and had to ask 3 times before it came …. Just some miscommunication , also my wife ordered some eggs and they didn’t come - turned out they went to someone else! Again these are minor issues and didn’t affect our stay at all but I think just needs to be a little bit of a better system at breakfast .
Overall a marvellous stay at the Chedi Doha. I feel really sad to...

From the moment we arrived, the hotel exceeded our expectations, particularly with the early check-in and complimentary room upgrade that set the tone for our stay.
Our long flight culminated in a warm welcome from Khalid, who not only facilitated our early check-in but also ensured our initial needs were met promptly. This thoughtful gesture was a testament to the hotel’s commitment to guest comfort and satisfaction from the outset.
The consistency of quality customer service at The Chedi Katara is remarkable. Every staff member, from the concierge to the pool attendants, embodied Christophe’s vision of unparalleled hospitality. Special recognition goes to Haseeb and Vishnu, who looked after us poolside with exceptional care. Haseeb, in particular, stood out for his cool demeanor and professional service. When I fell ill during our stay, Amal’s swift and compassionate response was a true lifeline. She arranged for a doctor, sent ginger tea, and checked on my wellbeing days later, showcasing a level of care that goes beyond the ordinary.
The way the hotel’s team celebrated our birthday and anniversary was both elegant and memorable. They orchestrated a delightful celebration that made our special occasions even more extraordinary. Our departure was equally touching, with a heartfelt send-off that included a handwritten card, adding a personal touch to our farewell.

Read moreReview for The Chedi Qatar – June Stay
I stayed at The Chedi Qatar with my friends at the end of June, and I can confidently say it was one of the most seamless and luxurious experiences we’ve had in the country.
Before booking, I had mentioned that I often go through disappointing experiences at other resorts, and I was really hoping this time would be different — especially because the kids were excited to swim right away. And honestly, they exceeded expectations. Check-in took less than five minutes. We were handed the room cards quickly, and a kind staff member personally escorted us upstairs, introduced us to the suite and connecting room, and explained everything we needed to know.
The entire stay felt like we were their only guests — that’s how attentive and thoughtful the service was. Even when we requested assistance with the TV, an engineer showed up in under five minutes. And when we ordered McDonald’s late at night, they didn’t just leave it at the reception like most 5-star hotels in Qatar — they personally brought it to us, no delays, no hassle.
Special thanks to Lali from reservations, two Arabic-speaking staff members, and a kind gentleman from the Indian team who delivered the food — all of whom made us feel right at home.
Yes, we paid a lot — booking the largest suite, a connecting room, and a third additional room — but the service was instant and the entire experience was truly worth it. I was hoping to try the villa, but it was fully booked. Next time for sure — I’ll definitely be returning.
Now let’s talk about the spa: my friend and I had a massage session from 11:30 PM to 12:30 AM, and it was easily one of the best massages we’ve ever had. We fell asleep the moment we got back to the room. The fact that they offer such flexible timings is amazing. Unlike other places that are strict and rigid, The Chedi flows with you and prioritizes your mental comfort and relaxation.
Breakfast the next morning was delightful. The omelette was perfect, the croissants were fresh from the oven, the jams were delicious, and the coffee — cappuccino and americano — was top quality. Even the in-room Nespresso was stocked with premium capsules.
Every single detail was handled with care. I had asked for coloring books for the kids, and sure enough, they were there waiting.
Thank you to everyone at The Chedi Qatar — thank you for every thoughtful touch, every detail, and for creating memories we won’t forget. I...
