Myself, my partner and my 12 year old visited Bucharest for 3 nights last week.|First of all, the hotel reception was an attractive space, scrupulously clean.|The staff we encountered were all excellent English speakers and gave the impression they were very helpful ( although I'll revisit this later in the review). |We arrived at almost midnight and were checked in swiftly and efficiently.|When we got to our room it was clean, modern and in good condition. However we immediately discovered there were only 2 single beds, two lots of bedding and 2 lots of towels when we had booked for a pair of adults and a 12 year old girl.|My partner went to reception and was told ( not at the time of check in) that the hotel was very full and they didn't even have a spare fold out bed for the night, however they would remedy that the next day as they would move us to another room.|We then had to ask for an additional pillow and set of towels which was swiftly delivered to the room.|We decided to turn the beds sideways and push them both together and we all just shared the makeshift bed.|Our safe also didn't have a key and when we asked about this the woman at reception sent us back to check if there was a key, and said she would get it sorted, but that did not happen so we had to carry all our valuables ( passports and cash) with us at all times and take our chances leaving iPad etc in the room.|The beds themselves were again scrupulously clean and very comfortable.|There were complimentary toiletries in the bathroom. |Breakfast was served 7am til 10am and was a fresh and delicious continental breakfast, with something for everyone, (although some less typical options such as pasta, chocolate mousse, and mixed vegetables!)|Because we were only staying 3 days and wanted to see the city we made the decision to not pursue the change of room on the morning after night one, because check out time wasn't until noon and we didn't want to have to hang around all day and waste our time in Bucharest waiting for someone else's room to be ready for us to move in to- however the staff did not contact us to ask if we wanted moving to the correct room, and seemed happy to just ' forget' that we were squeezing 3 large people into 2 single beds.|On day two something happened with our toilet and it kept trickling water continously- again we went to reception and the lady said she would ask someone to come and sort it- my partner observed her speaking to the handyman on the phone, however when we returned that night the room had been cleaned but the toilet was still trickling, so my partner went back to reception and was told someone would be right up- however this didn't happen and we had to spend the entire night listening to the toilet trickle.|On day 3 we were leaving, and the reception were happy to allow us to leave our suitcase behind reception until we had to leave in the evening- however this is advertised as a left luggage room, and there didn't appear to be a room, just the space behind reception. |On our final evening before we were collected to to to the airport we ate our dinner in the hotel- it was delicious, very competitively priced, and huge portions.|Overall, if we had been placed in the correct room that we had reserved, or been given the option of the foldout bed ( we would have paid for this but were told there wasn't one available), and if the toilet had been sorted so it wasn't constantly trickling, our stay would have been perfect.|Obviously those minor issues impacted our stay, and would have been easily fixed, but weren't fixed.|However- that said, I would stay in this hotel again as I know it is in a good location ( right opposite the palace parliament and a short transfer to the airport, but without the craziness of being city centre), and is...

Breakfast was the only thing worth praising. Everything else? Unfriendly staff, dirty room, chaotic check-in/check-out, and overpriced extras (€45 shuttle vs £15 Bolt). Save yourself the headache — eat elsewhere if you must, but definitely sleep elsewhere.
From start to finish, our stay was disappointing. Upon arrival, the reception staff were noticeably unfriendly and unwelcoming. As a hotel that hosts many foreign guests, I would expect a warmer approach, but that wasn’t the case.
We arrived three hours before official check-in and politely asked if an early check-in was possible, even if it meant paying extra. The answer was a flat “No, sorry” without any attempt to check or offer alternatives. Fair enough, but then when 3 PM finally came, our room still wasn’t ready. We were kept waiting in the lobby for almost 30 minutes past check-in time because they hadn’t cleaned it yet. The receptionist even said “couldn’t find the cleaners.”
When we finally got the room, it was clear it hadn’t been properly cleaned. The toilet seat had dirt on, the bathroom had mould around the bathtub, the extra bed for our child had dust underneath (as seen in our photos), and overall the room felt dirty.
Additionally, the check-in felt rushed and careless. We were given just one room key for two adults and a child, with no explanation about breakfast times or hotel facilities. We had to ask all the questions ourselves.
Check-out the next morning was equally frustrating. The receptionist wasn’t at the desk when we came down early, asked us to “come back in two minutes,” and still wasn’t there when we returned. The very first question at check-out wasn’t “How was your stay?” or “Did you sleep well?” — it was whether we had taken anything from the minibar. That alone says a lot about how much they value guest experience.
They do offer an airport shuttle, but be warned: they quoted €45 for the trip. We simply booked a Bolt for £15 and got to the airport in under 40 minutes during near rush hour.
Overall, the lack of hospitality, the dirty room, and the overpriced services make this a hotel I would...
Read moreWe are a traveling family with a young child. Please find another place to stay at.
We booked for 3 nights and completely regret it. The first night, we had such a difficult time sleeping due to the heat in the room. The heater was turned off and ac was turned on but it was still extremely hot. We informed the young blonde guy at the front desk and he told us he would look into it. We were gone all day and even left a window open but when we arrived back to the hotel at midnight, our room was still hot. We tried to sleep and just couldn't. We kept calling the front desk downstairs and no answer. My husband went downstairs and found the night staff Iwona sleeping on the couch. She told him there was nothing she could do and that it is hot downstairs too. As soon as my husband came back upstairs, I called the front desk. No answer. I go downstairs and Iwona was back asleep on the couch. I started to tell her about the heat in the room and she immediately started saying it was hot in the lobby as well and there was nothing she could do about it (it was probably 10 degrees cooler than our room). She got extremely defensive and did not even offer some sort of solution. I asked about a room switch and she said they were fully booked. I asked for the manager's name and she told me she "can't give that information." If she even pretended to care, that would of been nice.
They messed up our original reservation and only reserved the 3 person suite for 1 person.they almost didn't allow me to check in with my husband even though the room is for up to 3 people. They eventually let us all stay together but then had to pay extra (not just the taxes).
I worked in a hotel as a receptionist so I know all about handling such situations. I'm surprised this place is getting business at all. Our entire experience at this hotel has been the worst. And we...
