Unfortunately, this might be the worst 4-star hotel I’ve stayed at. My husband and I have been living in hotels the past 2 months traveling around Europe for work. This was one of the worst places we’ve stayed. The service was bad, the room was bad, and the amenities were falsely advertised.
First issue: the hotel advertised “an exceptional indoor swimming pool, fitness center, dry and wet saunas, emotional shower and hydro-massage tub” etc. We booked it for that very reason. After we checked in I went up to the room, set my bags down and went to check out the pool. Apparently every amenity advertised was closed. I went to the front desk and asked if it would be open the next day. The front desk man said “Why does it matter, you only booked one day.” (AND that is exactly why we only book one day the first time trying out a new hotel. We were in town for a few days, but we don’t want to be stuck somewhere we don’t like.)
He then said everything would be closed for the next month. Why wasn’t this mentioned on their website? You can’t advertise a large array of “luxury” amenities and then not have them after check in.
Second issue: There were supposed to be 3 restaurants. All of those were closed all that day as well.
Third issue: The tv didn’t work, the phone was broken, and the heating and cooling system didn’t work. How is that even possible in a 4-star hotel?
This was all discovered within 15 minutes of check in. I didn’t touch anything other than the chair in the room at that point. I had not yet unpacked or even sat in the bed. I wanted to cancel the booking. The hotel refused, despite the false advertisement and broken features. They didn’t offer to give us a new room. They didn’t offer to give us a partial refund or make anything right.
Fourth issue: The water pressure in the shower was only a trickle. It was the worst hotel shower in the past two months of travels. It was nearly impossible to just rinse shampoo out.
Thankfully Ctrip, the third party we booked through, offered us a partial refund since we were able to provide proof. If you do dare to book here, my advice is: do not book through the hotel directly and do not book through hotels.com. If you do either of those, no issues you experience will be made right.
After booking here for one night, we switched to a 3-star hotel with better customer service and better facilities.
The good parts about this hotel were that it had a decent breakfast and it was within close walking distance to a food court.
But overall, I would not recommend due to dishonest advertising, rude service, broken facilities, and the...
Read moreThis is definitely NOT a 4 * hotel. I don't think it meets the standards for a 2 * hotel, either. In my opinion, those stars are just for decoration, they don't have anything to do with any rating.
Why?
Cleanliness, sanitary condition, friendly staff, working bathrooms are missing at this hotel. Only the location is worth something, if you don't have to spend the day in the hotel. The moldy smell, the filthy carpets, among other little issues like a shower head that is not fully attached and takes you by surprise, will ruin your stay. Not to mention the bathrooms and the possibility of bringing home little insect friends.
Upon arrival, I specifically requested a room where the AC is turned on and working because the temperature outside was 34C ( 93.2F). What I received: a room with an opened window, with an inside temperature of 28C (82F), a moldy smell, and unbearable humidity. The front desk response, using an annoyed tone: "The windows are opened because customers are complaining about the smell in the rooms. Also, the AC cannot work if the room card is not placed in the central location. This is how things work here. If you just wait for a while, the room will cool down" - Not a 4* hotel experience by far. A bad first day turned into second day with a black cockroach walking happily around the room. Not something unknown by the staff of the hotel, and, the answer, using the same annoyed tone: "We know, other guests have complained about them. Can we see a picture? How many did you see? It's summer, there's nothing we can do." After presenting the evidence, I was moved to a new room. The staff who assisted me with the move asked me to point at the cockroach, so that he can take a picture. The administration asked about it. The question did make me smile. I couldn't provide the live evidence, just the picture that I took before I had to "take care"...
Read moreDuring my recent stay at the Internațional Hotel in Iași, I had a truly disappointing experience with the room service and room conditions. I ordered a Caesar salad and a club sandwich, expecting a quality meal in line with the level of the hotel. Unfortunately, my expectations have (been completely unfulfilled.
The club sandwich arrived with toast bread of very small size and poor quality. The Caesar salad was made up of a mixture of salad in a bag that was clearly not fresh, probably from a few days earlier.
Dissatisfied with the meal, I contacted the room service. The restaurant manager responded arrogantly, insisting that the salad was fresh. Despite my grievances, she continued to support her position even after coming to the room to taste for herself. Eventually, he admitted to using salad in a bag as the fresh salad was finished, but continued to insist it was good and fresh. She didn't apologize in the slightest and maintained an arrogant attitude throughout the conversation.
As if that wasn't enough, the shower head in my room leaked water and splashed everywhere, making it impossible to take a relaxing shower. The shower was not completely closed, causing flooding on the bathroom floor. With two little girls in tow, we had to use all the available towels to dry on the floor, running the risk of slipping.
This episode made bad customer service, poor attention to food quality, and serious maintenance issues. I expected a higher level of service, considering the reputation of the Internațional Hotel. I hope that the hotel management will take this feedback seriously to improve the guest experience in...
