Pensiunea Daniel — Hotel in Sibiu

The exterior looks like a nice Pension, and its near the old city so we booked it. Unfortunately more of a motel. You enter through the nice large gate to a large car park, space for 10 or more cars, but thats what it is, a car park, no plants trees or anywhere attractive to sit. The few tables and chairs that are three are up against a bland wall. The rooms surrounding this yard are all accessed via external doors which gives it the motel feel. Inside the property the only room is the breakfast room, bland and unattractive so nowhere nice to sit with a drink resting after a day sightseeing. ||||And breakfast at 5 Euro per person was poor. Cereals, cold meats and cheese and boiled eggs and bread and watered down orange juice. Except the one morning there was no milk for the cereal, no eggs and no cheese left. And no one in attendance. People were trying to check out. They had to ring the hotel number. A girl emerged from the toilet ! She dealt with the check out and went back into the toilet. When she came out after another 15 minutes I pointed out all the empty dishes that had not been refilled. She said she wasn't well and had a stomach bug. SO WHAT WAS SHE DOING SERVING FOOD AND DEALING WITH GUESTS ??? So they provide a room to sleep, car parking and a breakfast room to eat a bland breakfast, all with no personal touch....

Unfortunately we also had an ant infestation during our stay which stressed us out a lot. We were busier getting rid of them than anything else. Really annoying. They were literally everywhere, even on cosmetic products.

Air conditioning was also a disaster. No ventilation whatsoever, the rooms were very unpleasant to sleep in due to the warm air/temperature. We had to open the windows and door wide open during the night to cool the room down.

Please look into those 2 matters! They are very important. Please, at least leave a simple ventilator in the rooms and look into the ant problem/matter.

Check out was also a bit confusing. That should be communicated better for all that don't speak Romanian.

The pros are that the refrigerator was huge and cooled the food really good. It also has a freezer.

Parking lots are free and good, we're happy we had that instead of having to pay extra. Only thing that was a bit annoying was the gate but I guess that's normal. After doing it 2-3 times you'll get used to it.

This place solves 2 main issues when visiting Sibiu:||A. It’s well located just a few minutes’ walk to the center.||B. It has its own parking lot.||The staff were very friendly and helpful….||However - the room we got was a corner room located on the street level, so it was noisy.
