Restaurant Pivnita de vinuri Weinkeller — Restaurant in Sibiu

Even though the place looks beautiful the staff is as rude as can be. We tried to talk to someone to get seated at a table and the first server that we met said that he can't talk and that we should search inside for someone and when we did I politely asked to be seated inside while waiting for a table on the terrace to clear up. I received a sour tasting response of "Can't you see we are full?" when all of the tables inside were empty, but I was supposed to guess they were all reserved.

If you have the patience to deal with this then sure, go ahead and try this restaurant. :)

I did not yell and the fact that you dismissed me with insolence and annoyance in your voice is what made me write this review. If you took a minute only to greet us and say maybe with a smile that you are full I would not have written...

Went for dinner on a Saturday evening about 8pm. Had reserved a table but really didn’t need to - it was very quiet. Sat inside as it was a bit cool outside, interesting cavernous interior. No non-alcoholic beer or soft drinks like coke, just beer, wine, juice, water or hot drinks. Waitress’ attitude was like she was a bit bored but we’ve found a similar attitude in other restaurants in Romania, so didn’t take it personally! Ordered a lot of food to try the menu - the meat and cheese platter was random, with no explanation of what the meats and cheese were! Ordered one of each soup - spicy beef goulash soup was tasty but far too oily, the cream of red pepper with goats cheese was one of the best things we’ve eaten whilst in Romania. For mains, the smoked ham and sauerkraut was nice but unbalanced - too much sauerkraut and not enough ham. The beef stroganoff was delicious. Would recommend 2 of the 5...

I am genuinely sorry for missing on this place, it looked cozy, the food seemed hearty and the location (a little bit hidden) is perfect. Unfortunately, the staff was so unkind and unwelcoming, I felt compelled to write this review as a feedback.

We first tried at around 20:00, but the place was not accepting new customers for the next 30 min. We were told off in rather rude manner, so we went for a walk around the city. We came back, silly us, to be told off again (by a different staff member), suddenly they are full and with reservations.

We weren't given an option to make a reservation the first time. I understand the restaurant is busy, I understand it's fully booked, I cannot understand why we couldn't have a single pleasant interaction while...
