Allegro — Hotel in Владимирский округ

I've stayed at Allegro on Ligovsky a half-dozen times now. This is my go-to hotel for stays in Petersburg. It's definitely a 3-star hotel, no questions about that, but as long as you manage your expectations s accordingly, this place really can't be beat. For those without Russian language skills, fear not - I don't believe I've ever stayed here when at least one of the receptionists didn't have at least basic (but sufficient) English skills. The worst part of the property is definitely the lift - old, and it will fit you and your suitcase... Not you, your spouse, and your suitcase, just one person and a suitcase. The property is a renovated apartment building. The staircase is pretty drab, but the rooms and the cooridoors into which they open are all well-renovated. Continental breakfast is great if you're trying to save a ruble or two, but unless you have big lunch plans, you'll probably want something more than hard-boiled eggs, cold cereal and yogurt. Many of the lower-rate rooms overlook the courtyard rather than Ligovsky Prospekt, but that's just as well, as Ligovsky can be quite loud. If you're a light sleeper, you'd do well with a courtyard-facing room. Staff are more than happy to allow you to leave baggage in a storage closet in the reception area if you arrive early or don't depart for awhile after checkout. The website doesn't advertise it, but you can pay for early check-in or late-checkout provided they have the availability. Again, with all of this said, for the price (especially once you get their discount card following your first stay) Allegro on Ligovsky cannot be beaten, especially considering the hotel's proximity to the Moskovsky Train Station, Nevsky Prospekt and Ploshchad Vosstaniya and Mayakovskaya metro stations (5...

I really love this hotel, it's old fashioned but caring- the staff are friendly and genuinely helpful and there are lovely touches like free tea and coffee throughout the day and a water cooler on each floor. Breakfast was fine, the usual three star hotel standard for Russia, I really don't know what other reviewers complain about, there was plenty of choice and it was a good standard, I especially liked the little pastries in all different flavours. The location is great, it's near the Crown Plaza and a fancy shopping centre (mall) so it feels very safe and is both reasonably quiet but within walking distance of the historical centre and Hermitage etc. However on our second night the curtain rail fell down with the curtains. We came back the following evening to find that the rail and curtains had been thrown in a corner and there was no sign of anyone to repair it. We therefore woke with the sunrise the following morning! It's such a shame that this spoiled an otherwise...

Point par point :|- L'hôtel partage un immeuble avec des particuliers peut-être. Mais en tous cas, la cage d'escalier est une partie commune non rénovée et à tous les étages, il y a des badges pour entrer dans les parties de l'hôtel. La réception est au troisième. Je vous laisse donc imaginer l'arrivée : porte glauque, débouché sur une cage d'escalier tombant en ruine où les fils électriques pendouillent de partout, et quand on voit l'ascenseur, une espèce de vide ordure taille humaine avec une porte en ferraille, on a juste envie de pleurer... Réception au 3ème, alors c'est parti pour s'engouffrer dans ces escaliers peu engageant mais plus que l'ascenseur. Au final, notre chambre était au dernier et nous avons monté les valises sur 7 étages.|- L'accueil était un peu froid mais nous avons vu pire. Par contre les bagages ne sont pas sous clés et nous pouvons y accéder sans surveillance. Je vous conseille donc de garder avec vous vos effets personnels importants ou de valeur.|- La chambre : le fait que tout ait été rénové à l'instar de la cage d'escalier rend la prestation plutôt correct. Cependant, on a plutôt affaire à un 2 étoiles selon nos standards français qu'un 3 étoiles. Le matériel à usage unique fourni est au minimum syndical. Pas de bouteilles d'eau comme au NasHotel (eau non potable à st petersbourg). Lorsque vous voulez vous laver les dents, il faudra vous remplir un verre d'eau dans le couloir (via une fontaine d'eau minérale). Pas de coffre fort non plus, ni frigo, ni anti-moustique (comme au NasHotel) Le débit de la douche peut parfois être tout à fait normal et atteindre d'un coup sans prévenir le niveau 0. Mais ce qu'on retiendra surtout de cette chambre, c'est l'odeur. Étant moi-même très sensibles aux différentes odeurs, c'est bien simple, cette odeur de ranci est tellement forte et désagréable que j'ai été littéralement réveillé plusieurs fois dans la nuit... Par une odeur ! Du jamais vu !|- Le petit déjeuner : strict minimum, il ne vous laissera pas un souvenir impérissable|- La situation : à quelques minutes de la gare pour se rendre à Moscou par le Sapsan ce qui est pratique si vous partez de bonne heure le matin.|- Qualité-prix : exécrable. Cet hôtel vaut peut-être dans les 70€. Si vous payez plus comme ça a été le cas pour nous (110€ environ la nuit), vous serez déçus de la prestation. J'aurais préféré mettre 60€ de plus pour une nuit au Park Inn, plus près de la gare de Moscou et dans lequel nous aurions pu...
