Bolshaya Morskaya 7 — Hotel in Palace District

Perfect location. Just one minute from the Hermitage and one minute from the Nevsky avenue in which you will find plenty of restaurants and coffes. The hotel it is located in the 5th floor of a building. There is no elevator but you can put||your luggage into a "goods lift".||The apartment was clean and the room was very big. However, the bathroom was quite small comparing to the size of the room. You will find a microwave and a fridge so you can save some||money from eating restaurants as you can make something to eat there.||||Although the room was clean they didn´t enter to tidy up the room in 4 days, although we asked for it one day as we have some litter accumulated.||The staff was nice but they didn´t speak english so it is difficult to communicate with them. Anyway they try to do their best.||||Good Wifi||||One serious drawback for me was that, although it is centrally located, it is very difficult to find it as it is not signed even in the same entrance.||||All in all, I would go there again as it has a great value for money and...

Casi imposible encontrarlo, después de dar muchas vueltas y de preguntar a varias personas, que nos respondían en un idioma que no entendíamos, conseguimos localizarlo dentro de una especie de entrada hacia un patio interior, con un aspecto muy viejo y sucio y con unos contenedores malolientes junto al portal de acceso. Ahí ya se nos esfumaron las expectativas creadas al hacer la reserva. Con la ayuda de un viandante conseguimos que nos abriesen el portal (Ni tan siquiera hay una recepción o alguna indicación para encontrarlo). El portal de acceso era tan horrible como la entrada desde la calle, las escaleras (sí, había que subir hasta un 5º piso sin ascensor) de lo más cutres y viejas. Subimos dos de las 4 personas que viajábamos juntas, para ver lo que había "allí arriba" y sí que el último piso estaba más arreglado pero... Allí nos recibió una señora que sólo hablaba en ruso y que insistía en que subiésemos el equipaje (sin ascensor, con unas poleas por el hueco de la escalera), como pudimos le dijimos que primero queríamos ver las habitaciones, así que nos acompañó y nos mostró una estancia pequeñita, muy sencilla, con una cama muy pequeña para 2 personas y pegada a la pared y de la calle entraban todos los ruidos. Ya no quisimos ver el baño, nos dimos la vuelta y desistimos de quedarnos alojados allí. Como pudimos le dijimos a la señora que nos íbamos y que lo visto no se ajustaba a lo que se ofrecía en la página donde hicimos la reserva y que no aceptaríamos ningún cargo, a lo que también se negó previa consulta telefónica por su parte. Ante todo teníamos claro que allí no nos queríamos quedar, así que asumimos eso también y salimos a la aventura a conseguir un hotel como entendemos tiene que ser, que conseguimos después de unas horas y de gran preocupación por nuestra parte. Luego nuestra estancia en San Petersburgo fue tan buena como habíamos planeado. Sobre lo ocurrido, y para terminar, indicar que presentamos una queja ante la empresa mediante la que habíamos hecho la reserva, y de momento no se nos ha cobrado ningún importe (Salvo el que nos cargaron allá por Febrero/17 al reservar). Igualmente, nuestra extrañeza por que hemos visto que los comentarios sobre este "hotel?" no son recientes (salvo los nuestros), así como la valoración (8,5) y las 3 estrellas, que no se ajustan...

I will start with the only 2 positive things which are the location and the friendliness of the staff|The so called "hotel" does not have a receptionist unless you consider the homeless man staying at the entrance. |It is difficult to find as it is kind of hidden in an awful passage from the road.|This passage is used as a smoking joint and garbage bin store so every time you come in or out there is smoke or garbage smell or both!|After you come in to a building that looks like it is falling apart you have to go up 4 floors using the stairs.
