Nevsky Hotel Art Hall St. Petersburg||11 Bolshaya Konyushennaya ulitsa, Tsentralny district||There are 8 hotels in St. Petersburg under the Nevsky banner. We choose Nevsky Art Hall because it is in the heart of the city and nearest to Palace Square and the Hermitage Museum. Kazan church is within walking distance, the Church of Spilled Blood is 300 meters away and the Stroganov Palace is only 5 km away. 11 Bolshaya Konyushennaya ulitsa, Tsentralny district, is in the side street of the popular main city road of Vevsky Avenue where the cafes, bars, restaurants, shops and supermarket are located. We had no trouble walking to the Amiralteyskaya Metro (6 km away) where we took the MRT to catch the train to the airport. ||Using Nevsky Hotel Art Hall as our base we were able to go on a one day walking tour to places such as the English Embankment, the Peter and Paul Cathedral and Fortress on an island, the Leningrad Zoo, Troitskiy Bridge, the Summer Garden and the Field Of Mars. We spent a good part of another day at the Hermitage Museum. ||Nevsky is a small (22 rooms only) 3 star hotel but the price is value for money at S$61 (todays rate 14/Oct/2018) and you add S$8 for continental breakfast for two. The staff speaks English and are good to provide information to places with directions. We singled out Alexey as the most helpful one. We must say the room is warm and comfortable although it is a bit small for our third floor corner unit which was in a V-shape. ||Overall we were satisfied with the service and locality of the place but a great disappointment with the air-port transfer which we book with the hotel online. We were told to go the taxi counter at the airport and was ferried to the hotel in a cab for Rub 1,400 (chartered by the hotel). We asked the taxi company and was told the actual fare was Rub 1,000 if we were to book the cab direct. We protested but to no avail. The hotel manager won’t agree to charge us less. ||Nevsky Hotel Art Hall is a great place to stay in St. Petersburg. You just don’t book your airport transfer...
Read moreThis hotel was great! Once you arrive you first have to cross a gate into an inner court area. Afterwards you can ring the doorbell and they'll kindly open the door for you. Then you've got to walk up to the second floor. The reception is quite small although you will enjoy a pleasant time with the staff. They'll offer you drinks as you talk about the city and how to get around. They'll be super helpful with that. Then when you get to your room you'll see it's quite modern and comfortable. It has everything you need and you can ask for more and they'll kindly take it to your room. The hotel is nice and clean. What I liked the most is the staff specially (Karina) and (Anastasia). Really! the staff was truly amazing. I can not describe how good it was. You could call them at midnight and they'll go to your room with a truly good attitude. (This happened to me). The owner spoke English and Spanish. The location was great. Trough one side you could walk to the hermitage and palace square in 2 minutes and to Nevsky prospect (the main avenue) in less than 1 minute. Really close to cafés and great restaurants. I recommend ChaCha a Georgian restaurant close to the church of the spilled blood, amazing food! Less than 10 minute walk to all tourist attractions in the city. Amazing hotel! Stay and for sure you'll like it!||- Don't get breakfast included instead go and eat somewhere else. Breakfast is in another building 1 minute away and it isn't the best. Although it is very basic it has all you need. I recommend not to choose it,...

HOT SHOWER works fast and its temperature doesn't fluctuate compared to other hotels.||5. HOT WATER DISPENSER and IRON + BOARD is available in the main hallway. ||6. HELPFUL STAFF - Artym and Ainur were helpful in assisting us with directions and taxi requests. ||7. WIFI works okay.||||CONs:||1. NO LIFT. When we checked in, we were assigned on the 4/Floor, we carried and bulky suitcases up. The receptionist offered to help though by offering a twin room on the second floor, but we declined due to limited space for our suitcases.||Imagine the inconvenience of coming back from a long day of exploring the city and then climbing up four flights of stairs to rest. ||2. WALLS SEEM PAPER THIN! We can clearly hear other people talking in the other room. If we can understand what they are talking, it can be bothersome. ||3. BASIC AMENITY in the toilet. ||4.
