Me and a few family members were staying here from Friday to Monday so 3 nights for 3 people. Everything here was so annoying. First impressions weren’t that great when we went into the reception. Then in the hallways it was completely dim. I expect better lighting. And when we entered our hotel room I was thrown off. This is a 5 star hotel?! There was ZERO SPACE especially to pray, all the furniture here was outdated and don’t get me started on the amenities. For 3 people they gave us 2 of everything, and there wasn’t any basic toiletries that you would need like toothbrushes and such. And the washroom had a weird smell when we came in and was completely small and cramped that doing wudhu would make everything wet. And I almost fell down while doing Wudhu. And for showering here?! I’m completely disappointed. The shower floors looked so old nd weird and there was no SHOWER DOOR!!!! There was only a shower border that covered half the shower, but there was no shower door, so the floors got completely wet, even though we tried to be cautious while showering. I’m completely disappointed. And what made me even more mad is how HOT THE WATER WAS! Everyone loves hot water but this was too hot. Even while doing wudhu the water was too hot that my foot felt so hot after wudhu for a good 30 minutes. And then, in our room we only got just a few waterbottles like 3. In Makkah Jumeriah hotel, we had so many, and we could get so much more at reception and anywhere. Back to this hotel, We called the reception for more waterbottles because we obviously needed more water bottles, and the receptionist sounded like he was gonna burst out laughing or something, i dont know about that part but maybe it’s just me… and then we waited patiently the entire day for more because we finished the rest while outside at the masjid due to the immense heat. We never got our waterbottles. The only calls we would get from this hotel is “How is your stay, is everything okay?” Then we saw a housekeeper and asked for some waterbottles and got it an hour later. Would you be mad too if you were thirsty and there was no waterbottles in sight due to poor service? I would. The service here is completely trash, and the hotel is trash with everything being cramped and outdated. Breakfast wasn’t so bad, it was average quality food but it wasn’t the BEST. And the dining was not great, the utensils looked dirty that we had to wipe before using it. And our seats were dirty with food crumbs that we had to clean it too. Its not worth the money and I’m completely disappointed in the people who rated this a 5 star. Thank you for saying it’s a 5 star making all these people waste their money for a trashy hotel with trashy service. And I’m completely even more disappointed with the hotel. Do better and get better furniture that isn’t wooden old waste. This hotel was even more expensive than PULLMAN ZAMZAM MADINAH HOTEL! Which PullMan gets the best reviews and somehow this place was more expensive.. we were going to get Pullman but we had faith in this hotel due to the “good ratings”. I wish we hadn’t wasted so much money and just went to Pullman. I don’t know why everyone’s saying the distance from here to there is amazing and rlly close. It’s not, during Adhaan time it would take a bit long to walk all the way there, and you know how it is for the ladies. We have to walk all the way back just so we can find a spot for woman’s prayer area. The only thing that was nice was the kind housekeepers here. The price in this hotel is so expensive. Corporate Greed nowadays. Per night this hotel costed around 600+ SAR. Thanks a lot for this scam of a hotel. Do better and make your rooms bigger for all. Sorry if this sounded really mean but it’s...
Read moreI am writing to inform you of my experience at your hotel, which has been extremely disappointing. I’ve been back in the UAE for a week now, but I am still very sick, suffering from breathing issues that I believe were caused by the conditions during my stay at your hotel. Unfortunately, these symptoms began while I was still staying there.
When I first entered the room on my birthday, I found the toilet seat full of tissue and waste, creating a very bad smell. I was immediately disturbed by the condition of the room.
I was moved to another room, but it was equally in poor condition. The air conditioner was noisy, and the room was uncomfortable. I was very tired, having arrived at 4:30 AM, and decided to accept the room despite these issues. Additionally, there was no privacy, as I could hear all the conversations from the next room, including the discussions between the couple.
The third room I was moved to was old, with an unclean carpet that had become even darker and worn due to a lack of cleaning. The carpet was in such a bad condition that it was noticeably darker than the carpets in other hotels, which remain lighter even when old, due to regular cleaning. In this room, there was no hot water, and there were no shower towels—only hand towels. As a guest at a 5-star hotel, I expected basic amenities, but the lack of even a shower towel was a major oversight.
As if that wasn’t enough, I was offered broken plates as part of the hospitality, which is unprofessional and completely unacceptable. On multiple occasions, I visited the restaurant and was met with unpleasant odors and unclean surroundings.
Additionally, I found that this hotel, despite being located in a holy place, did not even provide a prayer mat or a Quran in the room, which is something all other hotels do. This clearly reflects a lack of care for the comfort and well-being of guests, especially those who may want to pray or follow religious practices during their stay.
I do, however, want to appreciate the efforts of Bayan, Fatima, and Ahmad. They were kind and tried to help. Ahmad even offered me Sohor or Iftar, which I accepted. Unfortunately, when I went to the restaurant, I was treated rudely and told that there was no information available and that I would have to either pay or leave. This is very inappropriate behavior from a 5-star hotel and was incredibly disappointing.
Despite the kindness of the staff, the conditions of the hotel made it impossible for me to stay. The bad smell and lack of cleaning were unbearable, and I could not remain in the room. This has truly been the worst birthday vacation and hotel experience I have ever had. The hotel’s conditions are far below the standard of a 5-star establishment—this experience would barely qualify as a one-star hotel.
Now that I am back home, I am still suffering from the breathing issues caused by the poor conditions of the room. I strongly believe that the state of the room contributed to my ongoing illness, and I hope you take this matter seriously and address it promptly.
Thank you for your attention to this serious issue.
